Drew Bledsoe to be released by Bills

Featured Replies

THANK GOD! Of course, the Buffalo newspaper reported essentially this same thing over a week ago, but still, I'm glad it's finally happened.

The Losman era needs to start next year. His injury prevented him playing a prominent role last year, but this year hopefully he's ready, and the sooner he's named the starter, the better. Bledsoe wasn't awful last year, but that last game vs Pittsburgh showed that he can't beat the good teams and get the Bills over the hump. If Losman can produce just a little bit better than Bledsoe, the Bills could win 10-11 games next year and end the playoff drought (promptly to lose in the playoffs to New England, but still, it would be something).

Who takes a chance on Bledsoe next?

Damn, after the season they had last year...they had alot to build on...Im suprised by this...

I thought the Bills could be a playoff team with Bledsoe next year

not so much with a "rook" at the helm

Bledsoe is not old. He might be like 31 or 32.

He moves like the Statue of Liberty too and is about as poised as a French soldier when faced with pressure.

What happened to "Mr. Record Breaker"?

Talk about fall from glory.

And just to make things harder on him, his team goes on to win 3 SUPER BOWLS right after he leaves.

Losman didn't do much in limited action. Remember the New England game Sunday night? (though, to be fair, New England makes alot of people look bad). Other games he played (Seattle, San Francisco) all he did basically was hand off to McGahee and Shaud Williams, and McGahee can make alot of QB's look good.

I'd think Losman's season next year could realistically mirror what Carson Palmer, another guy who sat a year then started, did this year. Start off slowly but, as the season progresses, move to an above average QB who can make plays and win games. Losman doesn't have Palmer's natural arm strength, but he's mobile, and has a better defense to rely on than Palmer did.

Hopefully, the Bills defense and Willis can keep them in games at the beginning of the year and, towards the stretch run, Losman can come into his own. After all, if the defense and McGahee could make Bledsoe look decent, I'd think they can do the same with Losman for the first half of the season.

And to whoever said the think about Bledsoe, the Statue, and the French - :thumbup

Bleadsoe is not good, but there are alot of teams that could use him because their qbs are even worse. Maybe Arizona or San Fran

This surprises me. I thought they'd have Bledsoe and Losman battle it out in training camp. Especially after he led them to their late-season surge. I'd like to think they could've gotten to the playoffs next year with Bledsoe. With Losman....I don't know.

I also don't know what team would take him as a starting QB. The "pocket passer" is really not in vogue right now. I'd probably see him hook on as a starter behind a young, inexperience QB (like Losman is).

Yeah, same here..... very curious to see how that works out, and were Drew will end up.

Bledsoe told them if wanted to start Losman then to trade him, really he's too good to be a back up and he doesn't have much time left. Buffalo didn't trade up to get Losman to have him watch from the bench, my guess is they want to prove he was worth it.

I think Clevland should try and get him since they released Garcia and maybe a veteran QB could help them.
