Anybody know if this includes season ticket holders? I think it doesn't because it seems as if this is single game tickets.

I'm just surprised because at Fan Fest, those things were selling like hot cakes but there is still a whole month so we shall see

Trust me when I tell you that more than 25,000 have been sold and honestly, I would say that close to 38,000 to 40,000 tickets have been sold for opening day. They opened up the club zones in the outfield (which doesnt happen often) and those seats sold out. What is available now is upper deck towards the outfields, so everyone has an idea.

Of course full season tickets include opening day. If they didn't, it wouldn't qualify as "full season".

I believe he means individual game tickets for opening day not season. So it would be 25,000 plus another whatever (10000) the season ticket number is.

I already bought my tickets, thank God. I thought we sold more than 25,000. In ticketmaster, it showed me the best seats available and it was in the way upper deck. hopefully what Da Bear is saying is correct.

Trust me, full season gets you every game.

That would be some crazy plan if season tickets didnt get you opening day.

 

I think that some of the other plans should have included opening day as well besides the saturday and sunday plan.

They're probably just announcing 25,000 so people think their are still good seats available or something. At this point, there is no f'ing way that only 25k seats have been sold.

I believe that Samson ment individual game tickets sold for this game was at 25,000, not including whatever number of season ticket packages there are, which is atleast 10,000 (possibly more).

 

Because I looked today on ticketmaster and the best they had was in section 441 or section 401 which are both getting close to the corners. So that means close to 40,000 have been sold, probably somewhere in the 36000-37000 area, and we still have 4 weeks to go.

Here are some rough estimates

 

16 sections in the upper level that are sold out (16 x 720 seats per section + there about 10 rows or so in a two other sections) = 12,000 in the upper level

Lower level is sold out so I just did # of sections x 700 (30 rows 24 seats in a row) to get 18,200. I wasnt sure how many rows club level had so I just said 8 (sections x 20 seats per row) was 5760. Add them all up and you get about 36,000 sold so far (+/- a 1,000).

If the 25,000 number was indeed only counting single game tickets, then

 

36,000 - 25,000 = approx. 11,000 season tickets

 

Now everyone must remember that MLB counts a season ticket per game. 81 tickets = 1 season ticket package. It takes two 41-game plans to equal 1 season ticket holder. However, most packages include a ticket to opening day.

 

I would estimate around 5,000 to 7,000 season ticket holders (any package) as of March 5th then.

Here's a thing to think about:

 

The lower bowl isn't completely sold out; I know that the Marlins hold a certain number of seats for potential season ticket sales (so if you still want good seats to opening day, buy a package), and they hold those seats (I'd estimate around 600) until noon of the day before the game.

 

So, if you want good seats, go buy a plan, or if you want to chance it, check ticketmaster the day before the event starting at noon and ending at midnight.
