Trying to find a reasonable hotel, saw a sign while on the way to Jupiter / Roger Dean .. Anyone in the area know of any? I live two hours south so hard to drive up and check on Thursday (going to Friday's Marlins game) .. was told by some people there if you showed up at 7am you could get autographs and nearly everyone would sign as there would only be a few people there at that time when the players arrive?

Edit: Checked Expedia and all those sites, lowest I've seen was $140 a night.

Wish I could help. Don't know of any but don't think you should pay $140.

Some ideas maybe...

On your computer bring up Yellow Pages for Palm Beach County You want a motel between North Palm Beach and Jupiter. Stay away from West Palm.

Phone Jupiter Chamber of Commerce.

Try phoning Roger Dean Stadium. They're very nice. Also, I seem to remember

a motel billboard ad in the stadium.

Good Luck.

Foladar, 11:00 a.m. Surprised you haven't received any suggestions. And I'll be anxious to hear how you make out.

If you didn't score with my earlier suggestions (e.g. phoning Jupiter C of C), here's what I would do (if I didn't have a special lady with me.)

I'd take I-95 to PGA Blvd exit just North of West Palm Beach exits.

Go East to US 1. Just a few miles. Go North on US 1.

Look for a "keep your socks on Motel."

Anything North of PGA Blvd. gets you a quick shot at Roger Dean.

Before I-95, US 1 was the only route to Miami. Now, there are many momma/pappa starving operations on US 1.

Two pair of socks and you have it made!

:goodpost Best way to find these is the phone book.

CapeFish has provided an excellent Link for excellent, well-located motels.

They are also expensive.

Maybe he doesn't have the requisite two pair of socks and a sense of adventure.

Still rooting for you!

Chin High,

I can't give him a link to the mom-and-pops motels because they are pretty much not going to be online. The phone book is a good source, but the best results are from arriving at the innkeeper's door and inquiring on a vacancy.

I agree. And it can be done. I'd rather cruise US 1 than shop the phone book.

Worth at least $60 (or more) a night savings, which almost covers beer and hot dogs at Roger Dean Stadium.

Tough to do if you have a lady with you. But, solo, go for it!

If it was just me, I'd sleep in the car, but it's the whole family. Three of us going up. I recall a hotel sign on the turnpike for 35 a night, but I'm not going to drive two hours to find nothing cheap and drive back. Was hoping someone in the area had some insight. I found some hotels for 75 a night that wasn't sold out, but was hoping for a bit less.

Id suggest going north, check out prices for Hobe Sound, Palm City and Stuart. Stuart and Palm City are about 20 miles north of Roger Dean and Hobe Sound is about 10 miles north.

Anyone near Jupiter or West Palm? I've got a few questions and/or favors.

I'm in Western Lake Worth (about 30 minutes from the stadium). Perhaps you should look for hotels either farther south (like along I-95 in Lantana or near Palm Beach International Airport). There is a Holiday Inn near my house at the Turnpike exit at Lake Worth Road, as well as a Hampton Inn on Gateway in Boynton Beach, a Holiday Inn Express at Boynton Beach Blvd. and I-95, there are three hotels at Hypoluxo Road and I-95. Check those up. However, it's March in Palm Beach County, you are NOT going to find a hotel room in this area for under $90.00 a night!

I am not sure of anyone mentioned this hotel but there is a hotel right off the turnpike on Lake Worth road...I would say its about 30-35 minutes from the stadium!

EDIT: Ooops SoFlaFish did mention the hotel on Lake Worth Rd :blush

I pretty much agree...My whole family came down around this time and they could not find any cheap *less than $80* hotels. I told them they are in Palm Beach County :lol I know there is a hotel on Southern Blvd.. its a few miles north of Lake Worth Rd. They stayed in this hotel so it must not be that expensive.

The hotel is on Southern but just west of 441 :) If you do stay at this hotel stop at Maggie Moo's (ice cream place). They have the best ice cream :lol

Last posting on this thread for me. My previous advisories (supported by CapeFish) were apparently rejected.

Re-iterating the bottom-line: Do not stay south of West Palm Beach if it requires travelling I-95 to get to Roger Dean Stadium.

Foladar, you said in PM to me that you found some Jupiter area places at $40 a night. Book the whole place! And sub-let.

$70 a night. Cash only. Slight discount for single females.

Foladar, you could always stay at a hotel west of Palm Beach.

Try Clewiston in Hendry County. Belle Glade or Pahokee in Palm Beach County may also be a possible place.

Do they have a website? I'm down in Homestead and no way possible to get in touch with these hotels.

Try searching Expedia for them.

Yikes... that's too far Cape. Pahokee is at least an hour away. He might as well stay in Broward.

:confused

Yup, if that's the case he can stay in Port St. Lucie, or maybe even Vero Beach!?!?! Then again, the crack dens in Pahokee and Belle Glade are fairly cheap and they may throw in a hooker or two!

Why have someone drive 2 1/2 hours to stay over one hour from the facility. Have you ever considered looking at a map of Florida? There is a little thing on the bottom called a scale, that you use to measure distance. Use it sometime, it's quite helpful!

Geez...no one can tell when sarcasm is in play. It was stated he found a place for $40. I was kidding! :lol

Yeah but I have no clue at all where it is. I saw a sign (forgot hotel name) on the turnpike last time we drove up but I won't be heading that way until the day after the hotel night so won't be able to book it.
