We find it hard to believe that the Pirates would even consider a Giles deal with Oakland unless either Rich Harden or Bobby Crosby was involved. They'd have to get someone with star potential back in the deal. Giles, who has a limited no-trade clause, can block a deal to the A's. He said Sunday he was unsure whether he would grant approval."
July 21, 200323 yr Is Billy Beane high? He is giving away half the team (exaggeration) for Giles. He is good, but not worth that much. Start worrying about the Pirates, with all those players, they could take over the Central :lol They would have made a bigger move than Houston, St. Louis, or Chicago.

He was a hell of a pitcher in college with the Huskers. Doesn't throw very hard but has pinpoint control, and good offspeed stuff.
July 21, 200323 yr I kinda figured we wouldn't get an all-star type player like Giles....just a guy who can make an impact, like a Rondell White.
July 21, 200323 yr I really want Rondell on this team. He's real solid (allstar) player. Besides I think Cabs got to go down. If we want to win this race we can't have a rookie developing in the big leagues.
