Why do the Marlins keep putting Looper and Almanza in. Everytime they enter a game they either blow the lead or come real close to doing it. Can anybody explain why they don't use Ugey for a closer, or at least bring up somebody from the minors, like they did with Bump. I mean they can't do any worse. :banghead

i don't have problems with Looper although sometimes he makes the game to intresting.

Looper just has Problems on the Road....

At Home he has a ERA of 1.21 and a average against of .217

at Away games he has a ERA of 4.56 and a average Against of .295

Also Surprisingly Uggy Urbina does better on the Road than at home....

Use Urbina on the Road to close and Looper at Home.... :mischief2

dude, looper has 4, count them 4 blown saves this season, that is not bad at all he is 19-23 in saves, i think thats right anyways, and atleast two of those games i know we have won anyways, relax, looper gets it done, he's gonna notch a couple saves before this time next week and you will be singing a different song

If thats to me I like Looper as the Closer... I just Prefer him Pitching at home where he seems to pitch better....

Thats hilarious putting Looper and Almanza in the same category. Looper has blown 4 saves this year (same number as Urbina). Three of those times, the Marlins have come back to win the game. I could go on and on, but its just not worth it. Looper is not a problem.

im in your corner Infoman :thumbup

i agree Ross and FishFan fo'Life....he may not be the best closer...but to be in the same sentence as Almanza is absurd. His ERA speaks for itself.

I am a big fan of the idea of Loop at home, Urbina on the road.

And before everyone jumps on Urbina's balls, give him a chance to prove himself. He's pitched what 4 innings? Please.

I was going to post this exact paragraph, but you already did!

You can't put Loop and AA together. That's disrespectful to a real pitcher...

Looper is no problem but AA needs to gtfo out of here !!!! Why doesnt Jack put Urbina on the road since he better ? like someone said...

cause that is just bad for moral, we can only have ONE closer, loop hasn't pitched himself out of it yet, relax guys, he's only blown 4 saves, 3 of which we won, so really he has screwed up ONCE all year, relax

Exactly.

Looper is a great closer. We didn't trade for Uggy because we had closing problems, but because closer was the only place we didn't have a problem in the pen...
