What a strikeout performance by Allen James Burnett. He was snapping off the curve with ease. I would prefer for him to be more efficient but WOW.

 

115 pitches tonight.

It's too bad he got his pitch count up so high so quickly, otherwise he would have definitely broken his own record of 15 K's.

Too bad he struggled the first two innings.. he probably could have gone another inning or two.

 

He was just nasty tonight!

But I thought AJ didn't have the best stuff on the team.

Josh has better overall stuff because he can throw more pitches for strikes. If AJ could throw his changeup for a strike consistenly he would have the best stuff.

Go A.J! Hes having a great year, and this is only the beggining. Plus, he had that triple. His second of the season, and its only been about 3 weeks. A.J is hot right now. I hope that is here to stay.

His offspeed pitches were great and from my view he could have had a couple more if it wasn't for some calls from the ump. Great way to rebound from the early walks. He needs to work on keeping the runners at bay though.

A.J. Burnett has better stuff than anyone in baseball IMO. If you couldn't see that tonight, you're blind.

The guy had a no hitter with 9 walks, tell me what other pitcher would accomplish taht feat. He has better stuff, but less control than Josh, IMO.

I'm not sure about the best stuff in baseball, but surely on the Marls...although that is not to say Beckett doesn't have great stuff.

A.J. has visably grown so much as a pitcher since then it's unbelievable. He isn't exactly wild.

It sucks he didnt get the win last night. The team won so I guess that what really counts.
