July 29, 200322 yr or are we going to resign pudge? the marlins are going to try and re-sign him fora muilt - year deal
July 29, 200322 yr Gammons says "Rondell White will most likely be traded to the Marlins within 48 hours" well wherever he goes it has to be within 48 hours numbnuts(well techinally a little over 48 hours but you get the point)..... If you mean me I apoligize. I'm on about 4 different boards and I don't always see the responses right away. Cripes, it's been awhile since someones called me "numbnuts"...lol
July 29, 200322 yr the marlins are going to try and re-sign him fora muilt - year deal The ONLY way that happens is if we stay in the race through the last day, sell out or nearly sell out a ton of games throughout August and September, and HOPE for the playoffs to make MORE money. Then it might happen. Otherwise, Pudge is walking...
July 29, 200322 yr IMO, it also depends on what season ticket sales look like for next year. I'm not saying that we'll resign him, but if we do well on season tickets, we should be able to increase payroll. It's very difficult to run a franchise relying on "walk-up" ticket sales. Hopefully people will be putting down deposits, for next season, to buy playoff tickets this year. I realize that I'm being very hopeful on this one.
July 29, 200322 yr from what im hearing so far...about all our player that wont be here next year .(pudge, Louie, etc) we're gonna lose over 100 games :unsure :
July 29, 200322 yr from what im hearing so far...about all our player that wont be here next year .(pudge, Louie, etc) we're gonna lose over 100 games :unsure : Well, earlier in the year most believed that it was inevitable that Castillo and Lee would be traded (raises hand). Well, seeing that McKeon has worked his turn around magic once more, that has become a distant memory. At this point, the future looks foggy. Again, pending how well we play through September, the BEST case scenario is we sell out and/or pack almost all of our games in August/September, make the playoffs, and sellout all of those games. That would allow us to re-sign a good amount/all of our key players for a second run. If we did that, tickets sales would increase dramatically during the off-season for 2004, and would be the key reason to our being able to afford to keep those players. I don't want to explain the worst case scenario...

July 29, 200322 yr unless we get 3 more Dontrelles in our rotation i dont see us selling out Really? Because we might sell-out Wednsday... This town like to win. That's about it. The don't care about the in-betweens or anything else, but winning will draw them. If we keep on winning, it will draw more and more attention, bigger and bigger crowds, ect. When we lead the wild card race, and I am exreamely confident that will happen soon, the big crowds will consistantly show up IF we stay on top.

Once we get on top, they won't forget we were on top. And I seriously think that if we can get on top, it'll only give a confident team more confidence, and it would take a helluva team to take the lead from us...
