Well good move to add to the bench? i would think Rondell would start if he comes here....

JUST GET BULLPEN HELP, NOT OF HELP

and maybe a new 3B too... that guy sucks

If we trade Castro...who will back up Redmond next year?

or are we going to resign pudge? i didnt think that was gonna happen

and i dont think any of our prospect catchers are ready.

Treanor could....

im sure we would find someone, dont worry

One thing about trading Castro is that we wouldnt have to carry three catchers anymore and we could have an extra arm in the bullpen, which could be Sullivan. So, we could have a 7-man bullpen with Looper, Sullivan, Uggie, Bump, Tejera, Phelps, and Almanza. Replace one of the lefties with Spooney in a couple weeks.

Maybe the Marlins make the move just in case Derreck Lee injury becomes a nagging injury.

I don't think we should trade Castro but I've always thought that we should send Castro to AAA and bring in another reliever just to give Castro more playing time.

he wouldnt get thru waivers

Believe me, if the Marlins could send Castro to AAA, of course they would. Hes out of options. If we wanted to send him to the minors, hed have to pass through waivers and some team would take him.

oh I didn't know. That sucks.

The Marlins aren't going to trade for White, I am pretty optimistic about that.

An arm for the pen, however, will be had soon...

Several moves would be nice. More stability in the pen, and improve the bench. I do not want to empty the farm and destroy the future by doing this. If the price is right, make the moves. Otherwise, do it with what you have.

yep

Yep that what I'm worry about all these trades since Florida Marlins still need to rely heavily on their farm system.

From Gammons reports, it seems White is 90% coming to FLA. But I don't like the idea of trading Castro, I've always thought he could be a star catcher once he gets the opportunity.

that's the thing, if they make this move then Rondell's going to start in LF.

You don't trade Castro for a bench player that's only going to be here 2 months.

White's not a downgrade from Cabs obviously, he's a fine player. But what are you trying to fix right now? You're banking on the fact that Cabrera will go into a prolonged slump.

On the other hand, the team's in a position to compete for a playoff spot, and that just doesn't happen often. So maybe you just load up and go for broke.

It's just that Castro is a starting-calibur catcher who I think could put up good production and he costs the team so little. They're sure to lose Pudge, and they'll be left with a combo of Redmond and a rookie.

'Course if it all works out no one will be complaining much. Like they say..."championship flags fly forever"

Gammons says "Rondell White will most likely be traded to the Marlins within 48 hours"

well wherever he goes it has to be within 48 hours numbnuts(well techinally a little over 48 hours but you get the point).....

Maybe the Marlins think Josh Willingham, the offensive catcher who has been ripping the minors up, will be ready to back-up in the majors by next season. Also, Pudge said before the season he would possibly like to be a Marlin for more than one year, maybe the team and him have talked and we do not know. Our winning should certainly change his mind about going back to Texas.

getting back to the BBTN part of the thread.....

I love how Gammons repeatedly said that the Marlins were "the best story in baseball."
