June 1, 200521 yr Based on who's in it, it looks great, but i'm afraid to see it.... I loved the original, and I'm afraid this will be a letdown based on those kind of standards. 790014[/snapback] From what i have heard the first was better but you have to see this one. Its so frickin funny you will have a good time, trust me.

After his negative view, not sure I want to waste my money. Sandler only has two good movies, Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison. Wedding Singer was solid but not as good. He has sucked ever since, making tame, predictable, mainstream movies with total gimmicks(referring to his comedies, not his good acting movies like Punch Drunk Love and Spanglish).
June 1, 200521 yr Author anything with a Yankees player in it is good... Anger Management was hilarious, one of my favorites

The characters and lines in that movie were so legendary and so unique, that trying to recreate it is/was blasphemous. I saw the remake 3 days ago and Sandler was horrendous as Paul Crewe. How Burt Reynolds agreed to have anything to do with this movie is beyond me, but I believe he knew that it would be made anyway and he figured he would hang around the set to make sure it was at least passable. The critics were right, Chris Rock did steal the show.He was the only spark to the movie, but since I knew what character he was playing from the original movie, I knew ahead of time that his appearance in the movie was going to end long before the ending. Overall, the same famous lines were used in the movie as in the original but delivered more like the characters in ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOOS NEST. The players seemed like they were all on prozac, which would make sense in the modern era version of this film. Marc
June 5, 200521 yr I saw the movie. It wasn't a bad movie and I'd definitely consider getting the DVD. I don't know how it stacks up against the original, but it was great fun for 100 minutes.
June 5, 200521 yr Who cares about the remake!?! this was not suppose to be like the remake, its just todays modern movies! This movie was hilarious.

I just watched the original today and it even had some of the exact same camera shots.
