Posted May 30, 200519 yr Our team had 9 walks today, plus one HBP. 5 of those walks were given out by Leiter. Even though we lost 3-2, it should have been a lot worse. We really need to work on this.
May 30, 200519 yr Leiter must have at least half of our team walks allowed. It's just the way he has to operate because he has weak stuff at this point in his career.
May 30, 200519 yr Al pitched great tonight, good enough for a win if we could have held on. 789569[/snapback] lol "great"
May 30, 200519 yr Leiter walked five but finally had a good start, he knew he was in trouble if he didnt, but 9 walks by the staff needs to improve.

Whether he gets out of them or not is the fine line between having a good game and a bad game.
May 30, 200519 yr Here's what I want to know Al Leiter: At Home: 1-4, 25 IP, 36 H, 10.44 ERA, 5 HR, 16 BB, 14 K On Road: 1-1, 23 IP, 12 H, 1.96 ERA, 0 HR, 18 BB, 13 K First off his walking more batters than K'ing is ridiculous. But besides that, why such a large discrepancy pitching away from JRS? JRS is a big pitcher's park, it makes no sense. What's sad is he has 2 more IP in 2 more starts at JRS than he does on the road. The competition really isn't different at home than it is on the road, either. At home he has faced Atlanta, New York, Philadelphia twice, Colorado, and Tampa Bay. On the road he has faced Atlanta, New York, San Diego, and now Pittsburgh. Maybe it's the starts against the Mets and the Rockies at home that are throwing off the numbers (well, he did give up 4 ER in 5IP against TB at home as well), but to pitch this badly in a pitcher's park when doing well on the road is just wierd.
