Last time I checked DS has one of the deepest power alleys in the league especially to LF with the Teal Monster. Wrigley Field is a launching pad to the power allies. I remember he had a considerabe discrepency in his home and road home run totals.

He would've never hit 380 with us. Preston Wilson had a monster year 2003? right after he left.
June 2, 200521 yr [The Marlins] tried to keep the pieces of the 2003 team around. Everyone and their mother was asking for a huge raise. Someone had to be let go. Mike Lowell and Luis Castillo were also popular players who ranked near the top at their positions that needed to be paid like it. We got pretty good production from first base early last year and this year.

June 2, 200521 yr Lee's hitting .359 with 10 homers at home and .400 with 7 homers on the road. i supported the Lee trade and the hard-line against Pudge after 2003, because i thought that the team couldn't justify the costs. however, considering that Lee's making $8 million, Pudge is making $10 million, Delgado is making $14 million and Lo Duca's making $5 million....the play of Lee since the deal (really, he's been awesome since the 2004 all-star break) is certainly making me rethink my position. Don't get me wrong, i realize Derrek Lee is not a .380 hitter. He is, at best, a .310 or .320 hitter who is just crushing right now. That being said, i'm not sure Delgado is twice as good as Lee is, and there's no question we'd rather have Pudge right now that Lo Duca, tho Lo Duca's been a fine player.
June 2, 200521 yr D Lee's recent performance is most likely a fluke, his current BA, OBP, and SLG are respectively, 108, 108, and 240 points over his career numbers. At 30 years old, it is unlikely that this is a lasting improvement. Delgado, by contrast, after his recent surge, is just below his career OBP & SLG numbers, and a mere 30 points higher in BA. So there is a good chance Carlos will continue to perform for this level for the season.

June 2, 200521 yr never came close to showing that for us. at the time it made helluva sense. sometimes players develop late. you cant expect an organization to wait 7 -8 years for it to happen.
