He got on base in front of our best hitter Wednesday, and solidified the bottom third of the order tonight. FFiP, as you can see from the updated image in my sig, Lenny has earned his say when to leave the Fish. Does this mean he hasn't been terrible the past 2 seasons? Does this mean he rightfully won a spot on the 2004 team? That he has rightfully won a spot on the 2005 team? That he should be in the HOF? That he deserves as much playing time as he has got? Does this mean he has earned a spot on the 2006 team or the postseason roster? Does this mean his or anyone's veteran presence of secondary off-field abilities are worth wasting a roster spot? No. But he's contributing and that's a good thing. A very good thing.

I'm not sure he would get the votes though. As with any player, Lenny deserves a roster spot as long as he keeps performing.

June 11, 200521 yr No love for Sea Bass, people? After Enc went down swinging on four pitches, Gonzo singled and was on second after the wild pitch before Lenny walked. He was the winning run. Everything else was gravy after that.
