Well, this could be a fun rivalry for Adam and myself (well, maybe 25-30 years ago.)

I still follow the game quite a bit, but unlike baseball, never adopted my new hometown team after my move 20 years ago (maybe because the team here already existed, unlike the Marlins.)

My team:

gator,

what has hurt the steeler/cowboy rivalry since the 70s is that neither team has really been great at the same time since and the fact that the teams only meet once every 3 years or whatever it is now.....

the last really meaningful game was in 95 during the superbowl when o'donnell gift wrapped the mvp award to Admin brown and the trophy to the cowboys....

i guess that could go down as a little bit of revenge from the 70s......

remember in the 70s you had the steel curtain of pittsburgh and the doomsday defense of the cowboys....

lost in the shuffle really is the purple people eaters in minnesota, but that is probably because they didnt win jack.....

Exactly.....

But i truly do believe that the Steelers are on the cusp of being great again....

They ran into that miraclous patriot team last year, that will NOT be back this year.

They have to determine who will replace Bettis soon, he is slowing down.

Free agency has hurt over the years to the Steelers, but they keep producing the defensive stars, who upon leaving the Steelers for more $ tend to not do as well for some reason.

Now one reason I think the Steelers will contend for a while is because of their coaching, but that is my opinion.

That is one of the many things that made Steelers/Cowboys great.....

Noll vs Landry

Staubach vs Bradshaw

Doomsday vs Steel Curtain

Now there are few other franchises with such storied histories or rivalries.....

As for me, it is a great time to be a cowboy fan in my eyes....

They are close to be a good team again, and after that we shall see what happens....

Love him or hate him, Jerry Jones wants to win more than anyone else and will do everything he possibly can to field a winning team......

or at least attempt to....

and one other thing, he is extremely loyal to his players......
