Naivasha, Kenya - A 10-year-old Kenyan schoolboy on Tuesday pleaded guilty to raping a three-year-old girl last month in a case that has shocked the country's central Rift Valley province.

 

The boy, wearing his school uniform, stunned a packed courtroom in this lakeside town by admitting to sexually assaulting the girl who is still in hospital with serious internal injuries she sustained in the attack.

 

"It's true as read," the child said in halting Swahili when asked by Naivasha magistrate Jennifer Thuita to respond to the charge of having unlawful carnal knowledge of the girl.

 

His plea was met with gasps and visible displays of shock among spectators who had gathered at the courthouse about 90km north-west of Nairobi to witness the unusual prosecution of a minor on sex charges.

I hope the 3 year old is alright. Her "openning" will hopefully close back up,(they can close back before a girl hits the age of 4) and she could look like a virgin and go on to living a normal life.

 

And the 10 year old is SICK. But atleast he was dumb enough to plead guilty.

And I've read many articles about boys less than 10 years old that have engaged in sexual intercourse. A 10 year old "doing it" isn't that big of a deal to me anymore.

I'm not really sure if it's necessary to keep posting these nasty articles.

I just thought it was messed up that a little kid would commit rape. When I was 10 I had no idea what sex was.

The real question here is not if 10 yea rolds know what sex is, its about the psychology of the 10 year old boy. First of all rape is a crime of power more than sexual pleasure. Was this boy raped or abused when younger? Second if it was for sex why a 3 yo? why not a 10 yo girl? So theres much more to this story, and by the responses so far on this thread it seems people havent really though much into it. This is not about a horny 10 year old.

Pathetically enough, I'd say you were more naive to be in such shock about it. I mean, I personally wouldn't say that it isn't a 'big deal' anymore but there's been so many cases nowadays that it's not even such big news. Maybe not exactly always 10 year olds but just children in general who have been said to have done such crimes. It's pretty damn sad that now we have to be on the lookout for rapists as young as that.

Me neither. There are so many cases like this. It's getting old. I think we know already that our society is going down the pooper and that so many children are having sex nowadays. It's pretty sad but stories like this aren't big news anymore.

Nah, not really. That just means that you haven't been following the news, because things like this happen all the time. There have been so many incidents in the past like this, and as a result, all these type of stories have lost their novelty.
