From ESPN....

suns get kurt thomas

knicks get quentin richardson, conditional 1st round pick.

and suns get cap....to sign JJ

good trade for both teams. knicks have good shooters, and now stoud moves back to PF and suns get a big guy who can play in the paint very well.

^^^link!

Do it.

Johnson >>>>>> Q-Rich.

the knicks also have like 15 PF's.

sweet, the knicks will never amount to anything with out Patrick Ewing.

Isiah Thomas is the worst basketball GM i've ever seen by a mile, so any trade made with him will be successful.

Plus, JJ >> Q Rich, so i'd do it in a heartbeat. BTW, I've heard the Suns will get a draft pick in this deal actually, not the Knicks. But we shall see...

The Knicks have about 2389028094890 undersized forwards, so dealing for a swing man makes great sense for them...yeah.

Talent wise I guess it's a fair trade, but it makes no sense to me...aside from Zeke saying he is going to get rid of every one of Layden's contracts.

Thomas-Marbury fistfights, its FANTASTIC!

As a knicks fan I'm very unsure about this trade, Marbury is good and needs someone to give the ball to. But they already have Crawford and Houston at SG.

They need more domination inside as it is. I can only see this trade working two ways.

1. This isolates Houston, sittting on the bench all year might get him too reduce is contact so we can trade him out of town.

2. They start Houston or Richardson at SF and go with a small lineup with Tim Thomas playing PF. But to make this work they'd need to draft a giant at centre. And of course this is presuming one of the two shooters can play SF and that TT can play point.

Although I do like the possibility about an extra draft pick.

there are no buyout clauses in the nba. unless its something new in the collective bargaining deal.

the knicks are stuck with that contract, like they should be.

Knicks want information on Richardson's injuryESPN.com news services

The New York Knicks have agreed to trade Kurt Thomas to the Phoenix Suns for Quentin Richardson, but the deal is on hold over the weekend.

The Knicks are awaiting insurance papers on Richardson, the New York Times reported. Richardson injured his back while playing for the Los Angeles Clippers, which reportedly was one reason they let him leave as a free agent.

Without the paperwork, the deal is unlikely to happen, the Times reported. If the trade is completed, the Knicks would also get a conditional first-round pick.

Thomas averaged 10.4 rebounds and 11.5 points in 37.5 minutes over 80 games.

Richardson averaged 14.9 points and 6.1 rebounds in 35.9 minutes over 78 games.

The Knicks get the first round pick too (along with Richardson). Not a bad deal if they can get a big guy.
