Now they'll expect him to come in and be sharp. I don't care what any of you guys say, the biggest problem with the bullpen is Jack. He just does not know how to use a bullpen and that goes back years...not just with the Marlins. 829340[/snapback] Jack once had that golden touch, but now he's too busy abusing a team's depth (or lack there of) by dryhumping relievers (to borrow Mike of Fishstripes' term for constantly warming up relievers and never bringing them in) and playing for insignificant matchups. Not that it isn't a hard job and that a lot of his decisions have had to been made on the type of pitchers that were acquired and injuries since.

A ground ball hit is still a hit, and if the hitters cna hit his pitches in a way that they can find the holes in the infield, it reflects on the pitcher, not the defensive alignment. 829440[/snapback] Then why do we praise a batter for hitting the ball hard directly at a fielder? Or criticize Encarnacion or Cabrera for playing with little effort in the field? Or Jack using a LOOGY aganst a righthanded batter? I don't think there's more than 4 or 5 here that think he can be any more than a stopgap solution. It's his critics and their ridiculous claims that draw out the moderates to respond.
