  1. Does Hanley know he hit .243 last season and is crap defensively? Apparently not. I have defended Hanley for so long, but he's a little diva bitch..
  2. Who cares if the organization is gonna spend money... It's not our money that they are spending, the ticket prices are already going to be insane, at least give me 5 years of Pujols' steady production (or Fielder)... If Samson claims that they want to re-brand the franchise, then re-brand the culture (whatever that means) and take a shot at something big... otherwise this franchise will be the same as it has always been by the time opening day 2013 comes by.. 5 steady years would leave us with 5 not-so-steady years. That could potentially cripple this organization. I'm tired of thinking about the future the future is now... Pujols will put us on the map, when he starts sucking, I'll deal with it. If it means that we're going to be the laughing stock of the MLB in 2017, so be it (we already are a laughing stock...last place team, horrible attendance and stadium, in-competent FO, and a crazy new logo), So if it means that we will contend with Pujols for the next 5 years and then we'll be crippled I'll take that. We've technically been crippled from 1998 to 2002 and 2006 to now...That's eleven of the franchise's 19 years. When he starts sucking, you'll begin saying how dumb the organization was to not give itself any flexibility, whatsoever. Pujols doesn't guarantee anything, anyway. The Cardinals have a great middle of the lineup (Pujols, Holliday, Berkman) and they're a couple of games away from not making the playoffs. It's about fielding the best possible team. I'm not saying Albert Pujols won't improve this team because he improves every team, but this team isn't just a 1B away from solving all their prayers. For all the sh*t Gaby Sanchez is getting, he's been a 3 WAR player this year. I'd say we have bigger needs. I also seriously don't remember the last time a 10-year deal worked in an organization's favor. You're missing the point. It very well may not be the best baseball move to add a 32 year old first baseman for 10 years. However, this is an organization that could benefit extremely from adding the biggest name in baseball. The organization would be legitimized immeadiately...and TONS of people in South Florida would become Marlins fans (and season-ticket holders) OVERNIGHT. The Yankees and Red Sox etc. don't need that type of impact, but the MARLINS??? Yeah, we do..
  3. Hanley Ramirez and Dan Uggla had an argument in the Marlins' clubhouse about Ramirez's early departure from Tuesday's game due to a hamstring injury. Uggla accused Ramirez of not caring about the team because he has a $70 million contract, while Ramirez feels insulted by some teammates' belief that he faked an injury to preserve his league-leading .355 batting average in the midst of an 0-for-14 slump. There are clearly some chemistry issues at play in the Marlins' clubhouse, but it shouldn't affect Ramirez or Uggla from a fantasy standpoint. -rotoworld uggla is a joke and I really hope heis gone next season. He appears to not care about the team with his half ass defense and his terrible swings.
  4. NOBODY SAYS ANYTHING ABOUT HANLEY NOT CHARGING FOR THAT WEAK GROUNDER?? Stop blaming Miller for everything, the defense has been ridiculously poor today.
  5. Okay now he's just getting hit but our defense messed him up tonight.
  6. This is what crappy fielding does.
  7. Damn did Andrew Miller f*ck everyone's girlfriends or something?
  8. How many SOLO HR's do we have to watch Hanley hit till we move him down in the order so we might be able to pick up more runs with those shots?
  9. Sports radio sucks... Except, of course, if you are listening to myself and Yiky Quintana on WQBA 1140.

dan uggla does not and should not bunt. i had this problem with girardi. i thought he should tell people to bunt when people were on base just so they got a better shot at getting a run. but then i realized i was wrong. you know what gives em a better shot at a run? a potential single, double, triple, homer.... you're wrong, sorry. Dan Uggla is a .240 hitter. You're going to be waiting a while for a potential single, double, triple, homer. And I think it's more the situation. 6th inning of a tie game. We need to scratch out a run. We have shown this year that scoring runs won't come easy. But nevermind, you're right. let's keep waiting for WALK-OFF HR's to bail us out.

Fredi Gonzalez is not a good manager. He doesn't even manage games, he sits on his ass and waits for the long ball to bail him out. SITUATION... Runners on first and second (Hanley and Andino, respectively), NO OUTS, 6th Inning, Tie Game, Dan Uggla the #2 hitter is up... What should you do? Ask Uggla to BUNT! That would leave runners on second and third with one out and the #3 and #4 hitters coming up. All you need is a sac fly or possibly even a grounder. Not only that, runners on second and third negates the double play possibillity. WHAT DOES FREDI DO? NOT A DAMN THING. Let's Uggla go up there and try to hit. What happens? Uggla pops up. No runners advance. Next batter? Jacobs grounds into an inning-ending double play. Fredi Gonzalez's conecpt of not moving runners (on steals, bunts, etc.) because he doesn't want to "give away outs" is well, STUPID. Especially considering the lineup the Marlins have. Our team gives away outs by going up to bat! We need to start manufacturing runs by moving runners and creating pressure. Oh, and Amezaga needs to be starting every day. He didn't do much tonight in the box score 0-2, 2 walks. But he is the only batter we have who knows how to work a count and take pitches. He had an AB that was about 13 pitches against Morris and ended up drawing the walk. It seems like every other hitter we have (especially Uggla) just goes up there and hacks at the first three pitches.
  12. :plain
  13. And by walking Wright, you have a force out at any base. I don't like Girardi's managing skills at all...
  14. I wonder why don't they just focus on Uggla, I thought he was doing good. hitting .217 with an OBP of .245 and SLG .326 Well if you wanna go by stats so far this spring that kid Miguel whats-his-face is batting .143 and everyone's rookie of the year is below the Mendoza line as well. That's why spring training stats aren't the be all and end all of player evaluation this time of the year. They are proven. Uggla is not. He's also a liability on defense. I say we should definitely go after a veteran 2nd baseman.

Nothing beats Lenny Harris vs. Gagne...
