September 2, 200916 yr Hanley Ramirez and Dan Uggla had an argument in the Marlins' clubhouse about Ramirez's early departure from Tuesday's game due to a hamstring injury. Uggla accused Ramirez of not caring about the team because he has a $70 million contract, while Ramirez feels insulted by some teammates' belief that he faked an injury to preserve his league-leading .355 batting average in the midst of an 0-for-14 slump. There are clearly some chemistry issues at play in the Marlins' clubhouse, but it shouldn't affect Ramirez or Uggla from a fantasy standpoint. -rotoworld
September 2, 200916 yr http://blogs.sun-sen...rbal-barbs.html Hanley Ramirez is at odds with double play partner Dan Uggla and other teammates over Ramirez's percieved lack of desire and commitment to winning.Uggla also accused Ramirez of not caring because he's already secured a $70 million contract. Ramirez and Uggla openly argued in the clubhouse about why Ramirez really exited Tuesday's rain delayed game in the fourth inning. Ramirez complained about teammates showing him up when he came out because of cramping in his left hamstring. Uggla admitted to being among those players that threw up their arms in resignation. Ramirez is hitless in his last 14 at-bats and has stuggled recently with runners in scoring position, going 2 for his last 17. Ramirez has no doubt some teammates feel like he faked the injury to preserve his National League-leading batting average, a claim he feels is insulting.

September 2, 200916 yr Yawn. None of this would be an issue if they haven't lost 5 of their last 6 games.

He appears to not care about the team with his half ass defense and his terrible swings.
September 2, 200916 yr Author Hanley Ramirez is scratched from tonight's #Marlins lineup following flap with teammates. Clubhouse closed to reporters.

Dan Uggla is third on the team in OBP and .20 above league average.
September 2, 200916 yr Dan Uggla had a .298 BA with a .949 OPS in August, and he began this month off with a home run. He also walked 21 times to 23 K's, that is f*cking awesome. I'd love to keep Uggla one more season, basically since we don't have any sort of 3B option long term (Dominguez is 2011), and it may suit the team to put Coghlan at 3B next season and see how Morrison can do at LF.

I wonder who the other morons were.
September 2, 200916 yr When teams that are involved in the race for the postseason begin to falter and drop away, rifts between friends and teammates is inevitable. It happens every year, and this is no different.

It happens every year, and this is no different. They don't even have to really be faltering. I remember hearing that the clubhouse in 97 was unbearable after losses late in the season.
September 2, 200916 yr Man, it would be awesome if Hanley really hurt himself. Yes! That's what we need.

September 2, 200916 yr I'm on Ramirez's side on this one. Uggla sounds jealous. Btw, 10 dollars on Ramirez.
September 2, 200916 yr Im on know ones side, we need BOTH of them to win! This team has more important issues.... stop arguing and win some f***ing ballgames

September 2, 200916 yr It's not like it's going to matter. Next time a game's going to matter, Uggla probably won't be a Marlin (sadly.)
September 2, 200916 yr I'm kind off in Uggla's side, since I thought the same thing when Hanley left yesterdays game.

That leaves us with a few questions going into next season... 1. Who is our starting 3B? 2. Who is our starting LF? I do think Uggla is probably gone because he will be too expensive for us, but keeping Uggla would put us in better shape going into next season. Basically, you are willing to bank next season on Gaby Sanchez as our starting 3B? Yeah, let's trade a proven 2 time all star and an .800 OPS 2nd baseman every season he has been in the majors and replace him in the lineup with a rookie who didn't even put up Uggla's kind of numbers in AAA. I mean we could maybe put Morrison at 1B, Cantu at 3B, and have an OF of LF Hermida (or another person), CF Maybin, RF Ross, but we aren't going to win by trading away the players who are producing. We aren't going to accomplish anything if we trade Uggla and don't have any true insurance policy at certain positions when he leaves. But hey, there is a lot of time between now and September, a lot of things can happen between now and then that could change the whole concept of these different options. I'll add that in LF if Coghlan were to move to 2B, the options to go to replace him would be probably a mix of Morrison/Peterson/Carroll (RF, Hermida LF)/hell even add the likes of Raynor and De Aza if Hermida is let go. This furthers the point that we cannot say at this moment that trading Uggla is the best option for this team. We need to be better assured that we can make up for the production lost if Uggla goes, and at this moment I'm not sure we have that in this team right now.

September 2, 200916 yr Another quote from Hanley I think I have to play, you know? I have to. I can't explain myself right now how I feel, but I have to be in there. I have to. And I feel like I got to do it because you don't get the same respect from your teammates when you're not playing. I got people upset when I got out of the game last night. But I try to do the best I can, you know?
