Mets_bs
Not surprising, he does it every year and is probably better served getting the couple days of rest.
Passion
From a fan's standpoint Id actually rather see my boy rest....I hope Damon skips the ASG as well.
Guest Fritz
Will he still be there and not pitch or will he not be in Detroit at all?

Das Texan
i hate him even more...but he does this every year...so its just grows...  its the all star game....what other true star of the game just says, the hell with the game i'm not going. even Barry Bonds plays in this game when elected.  this isnt the NFL Pro Bowl. The MLB All Star Game is the most credible of the three major sports.
Mets_bs
He's due to pitch the game right after the break, as a Mets fan I'd much rather see him rested when starts against a big divisional opponent than have him pitch an inning or two and run out there a day later ... or even better yet skip his spot and A) waste a start and B) bump Tom Glavine up in the rotation. The ASG is meaningless and boring as hell, it's just not adventagous for him to go. SOmething tells me you guys wouldn't be so harsh if it was Dontrelle or Roy Oswalt in the same situation.

JJ24
Personally i actually like this idea from Pedros standpoint, If my Boss told me i could either go with my company and be honored as a good asset or i could go on Vacation, im on vacation. FishFan24
He's already come out to say that he has nothing left to prove in the ASG, so this was not a surprising move whatsoever.
