Flag Man
The Ghost of Al Leiter may soon also be the Ghost of Mike Lowell. If Leiter had a game in him (like last night) why wasn't it brought out by the Marlins staff? If Mikey is traded, wouldn't be surprised to see him break-out and explode. FO is working on new guys. No reason to believe they will be properly nurtured and aggressively coached with our existing coaching staff. Sure, blame goes on the Players. But when so many quality players diminish... you have to look to Management and coaching. What I'd give for Ozzie Guillen...
Ramp
who has diminished? Lowell?.... JP is coming back strong Leiter had a very lucky 2004, and the numbers finally caught up to him in 2005
DogFish
I do expect changes though Mav. Could be sooner later later. Prolly needed as well
MarlinsatDuke
Yeah, I wouldn't say that Leiter's gonna be haunting the team yet. Not showing loyalty to Lowell might come back for some regret, but that's the money game. It'll be interesting to see what changes actually happen. You approve changes DF? I didn't think you were one to go that route. This whole season just seems inexplicable to me. From terrible on-field play, to horrible player management, to now what seems to be atrocious F.O. transactions. I'm stumped. This whole season has me altogether flummoxed. So quick to point out the negatives. What about the stellar performances of Cabrera, Castillo and Willis? All blossomed under the current regime. Don't discount the growth of players such as Gonzalez and Encarnacion. You have to take the good with the bad. The coaching staff has had a considerable amount of success. What I'd give for some sanity on this board...
DogFish
Sometimes you have to be honest with the situation A lot of us get tired of losing with the same cast.
Beinfest4Prez
Flag Man, do you ever look at the positives? I know its easy to accept the negatives and say the ship is sinking, but you can't discount what Willis and Cabrera have done this year, as well as Enc. Though, you could say its his contract year. But what about Castillo, who might be having his best season ever? Or what about the Sea Bass, and Bill Robinson correcting his swing. He has hit in a ridiculous amount of games since the swing was changed. I am sorry, but this coaching staff can't be blamed for Leiter, whose age caught up to him, nor Mikey who seemingly forgot how to hit a ball.
