July 25, 200521 yr Funny stuff, and stuff that makes you wonder who came up with these rules in the first place... http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=hruby/050725
July 25, 200521 yr That idea of limiting intentional walks is too subjective. It would be easy to pretend to be pitching to someone and just throw balls. That, or there would be more hit-by-pitches.

I mean pitching around someone is boring, be throwing a little well-aimed curveball at a stomach would just be amusing... only as long as no one gets hurt. So throw the Curve... not the FB.
July 26, 200521 yr very good article, but... 1) the IBB thing is stupid. 2) its already illegal to call a timeout without being inbounds. 3) suits and baseball managers just doesnt feel right.
July 26, 200521 yr Baseball managers in the uniforms is absolutely ridiculous especially since a majority of them aren't in the best shape and spandex isn't kind to those not in shape. I don't see why they can't wear slacks and a team shirt and a cap.
July 26, 200521 yr How the hell is the instigator rule not on there? They've got offsides in soccer on there and some other ones not worthy of being on the list, but not one of the most ridiculous rules in all of pro sports!

Horrible rule...
July 26, 200521 yr this guy was stretching for rules for sure. Some of them were waayyy lame and would possibly change the whole face of said game.
July 26, 200521 yr I think the "ground can't cause a fumble" is a legitimate rule. To bitch about it is annoying.
July 26, 200521 yr Good call. If the ground causes a fumble, it means the guy is down. You can't fumble after you're down. Like I said, they stretched for a lot of "dumb rules"/
July 27, 200521 yr dumb article IMO looks like he just chose a few rules from each sport and wrote something stupid about it...removing offside from soccer would make it totally different, and most baseball things he says make no sense i do agree with the tennis manager thing, and baseballs on deck circle
