July 29, 200521 yr Kip Wells is a FA after this season. When Burnett leaves (assuming he's not dealt at the deadline for someone under contract next year), Wells would make a decent #3 behind Beckett and Willis, provided he comes at a reasonable price.

He isn't being shopped aggressively as other prospective Pirate free agents because the Pirates think they can get more value from the compensatory draft picks. If the price is decent this winter, I want him.The talent is there and we have the ballpark {and hopefully pitching coach and trainign staff} to make him a success.
July 29, 200521 yr I thought I heard some rumblings of Kip to the Brew Crew recently. I've always liked Wells. I agree, I hope we take a look at him in the offseason. Would probably be relatively cheap as well.
