May 19, 200719 yr Nevermind, found it myself: http://www.spinner.com/2007/05/18/new-musi...shing-pumpkins/ Non-radio ripped good version. 20 minutes until the tix go on sale. I'm stoked.
May 20, 200719 yr July 3rd I'll be seeing the Pumpkins live for the first time. I totally sleepwalked in to this one, man I'm excited.
May 21, 200719 yr Oh man, I just found out that the Pumpkins are playing a 9-day gig in Asheville at the end of June. Tickets go on sale Sunday. I may have to cut my time here short and do that. How can they play 9 days? Is it a small venue? I hope they do a US tour, I would def go check them out if they came near me.
May 21, 200719 yr I just heard Tarantula and absolutley love it. Oh my god, I'm shaking. My favorite band of all time, the band thats helped me out through so many times since I was 12 years old is back and it doesn't suck. I'm so freaking happy today. I'm going to see them at Virginfest in Baltimore in August and I am beyond excited. Also the new album comes out the day of my brother's wedding. It's so fitting, he introduced me to the band and they were the first thing that really connected us from a pair of brothers who hated each other to me being his best man that day. It seems so fitting. Oh my god, I can't wait.
July 2, 200719 yr Well the song from the Transformers soundtrack and one that is on Zeitgeist, Doomsday Clock is really good. I'm dying for this album, such an awesome week of things I've wanted, Transformers movie, new Smashing Pumpkins album, new Interpol album, and my brothers wedding. Anyway the album's been leaked on to lime wire but I'm going to hold off, I want this album to go to #1 so badly. It's currently the #1 yet to be released album on Amazon so I guess that's a good sign.
July 3, 200719 yr I haven't listened yet, but AOL has the full album streaming.... http://spinner.aol.com/artists/new-releases-full-cds
July 4, 200719 yr Oh man, I had such a f***ing good time at the show last night. I was fortunate to be in the 2nd row and they played a great, great, great show. I got a good look at Jeff and Ginger. I like them both. Different then James and D'Arcy but to me they fit in with this new version of the Pumpkins. Billy actually blew out/messed up his amp so the show had to be stopped for the technician for a little bit and then once again but that didn't really wreck anything to me and the crowd was cool. Billy was definitely irritated when it happened later on in the show (not to the degree of stopping but still happened) and made some despariging remarks (as he should have, imo). I don't think the momentum was totally killed but that place was f***ing jumping before the problems and it wasn't as much after and that's when people started getting irritated and the band did too. For me Starz and With Every Light were the best songs they played and Tarantula was never better then last night. It was intense as hell. Starla was great too. They did a lot of jamming too including a huge very long jame session for the encore. I had some run ins with some people in the crowd especially an ass behind me who was bitching at me being tall and in his way a little bit and I said "found out some way to grow or shut the f*** up and leave me alone" He then was doing some other dick stuff and he kept bugging me about Alexis "you'd better watch out round hurrr boi, she gonna be leavin' wit meuh" which led me to then say, "if you f***ing say one more word to me or any of us I'm going to f***ing hurt you more than you've ever elt in your life" to which his less drunk friend that was with him got him to chill. I was totally ready to back that up too. I f***ing cant stand non-big fans that go to concerts and get way up close to the action and get wasted and then try to start sh*t. I don't care about people wanting to go for the atmosphere and sh*t even if they aren't big fans but stay in the f***ing back and don't mess with people that have been waiting to see them for years. Overall though it was a good show, and the crowd was good besides the above assclown and random drunk yelling song choices. I think they've been in Asheville too long though and are looking ahead to Fillmore, etc. Damn glad I got to see them and be that close to the action even though the show had some problems I still had a f***ing good time.
July 6, 200719 yr Glad you enjoyed it fox, I love Smashing Pumpkins but kinda forgot about them until this thread. I had the same problem with someone in a crowd on the fourth of July. Me and a bunch of friends were at citywalk to watch fireworks and this lady behind me kept pushing me in the back so i turn around and shes like "You need to move I cant see around you" I just stared at her in amazement and then turned back around . I am not a big person at all Im about 5'11 170 so its not like i was towering over her plus she could have easily stepped to the side I was so pissed.
July 9, 200719 yr YES YES YES, one more day. I'm getting up early to pick this up. I'm so psyched the onyl thing that sucks is reviews have been average but that has not stopped my excitement.
July 10, 200719 yr New album is filled with wtf and meh. There's a few good songs, but I find it rather lackluster and dissapointing.
July 16, 200719 yr It was good, nothing special or worthy of the antipation I had for this but eh I give it a 3.5 out of 5 The Good: Doomsday Clock, Bleeding the Orchid, Tarantula, Come on (Let's Go), United States(barely), Pomp and Circumstance The meh: everything else
