Bullpen Vent

Featured Replies

Obviously it's so frustrating to have such an inconsistent bullpen. Alfonseca, Villone and Mota have just not been very good, and yesterday showed that as good as any game.

Who could they get that would be better??? Or are they stuck with the guys they've got???

Does anyone know if Guardado cleared waivers and can be traded? They need a Chad Fox kind of scenario- a former closer who is released at midseason, etc. They need something.

Why do people need to start looking for roster changes after every loss? We just went 3 days with consecutive shutouts. I'm sure these guys get a little rusty not even having to warm up for a few days. These are good relievers. Give them a chance. The roster is fine as is.

I agree...we've got some decent pitchers out there but they're underperforming. Anyone we'd be able to easily get in a waiver trade would likely be a downgrade talent-wise unless we pull a Chad Fox and catch lightning in a bottle.

No one would make a difference. Maybe one week of them able to pitch at peak effeciency.

Any reliever you pluck off of the waiver wire would be a Ryan Voglesong calibre pitcher.

That's Vogelsong and there's nothing wrong with his type of pitcher.

That just isn't true.

Most of players passing through waivers right now are not third tier and below players (some are admittedly), but rather guys with either big contracts or big/long contracts that teams want to unload. The reason most aren't picked up is $$$ not skill.
