Posted August 28, 200519 yr Just got back from the Orioles game tonight. It was fun watching Mark Kotsay in action again to make a web gem catch as the A's smashed the O's 12-3. Lot of foul balls in the area I was in but none close enough to me. Anyway, at one point during the game, the scoreboard was being updated in right field area to show that Florida had won, and the Phillies were being shut out by the D-Backs 2-0. The family of O's fans in front of me started to read the scores and began talking about the NL East showdown. At one point the teenage son in front of me turned to his dad and said: "The Marlins are starting to get hot. If they get the Wild Card, they're gonna win the whole thing again." I couldn't help but smile when I heard that. Let's hope the Marlins players start to belief what this kid said too...
August 28, 200519 yr A lot of Cardinal fans in my area... They were actually rooting for the Cubs this weekend. The common thought amongst Cardinal fans is that we are the team they least want to play in the divisional series. It's not surprising.. the thought of facing a 3 man rotation of Beckett, Burnett and Willis in a short series has to scare them. Like we've heard so many announcers say about us, we could be like the 2001 D'Backs. They battled all the way to the end to actually get into the playoffs... but with the horses they had at the top of their rotation, they were a team nobody wanted to face.

Most Cardinal fans want the 'Stros to win the WC so they can face the Padres. And if they had to face a wildcard team they dont want it to be us.
August 28, 200519 yr Well the Marlins win the world series 100% of the time after winning the wild card. Therefore, statistics says they have a 100% chance of winning it all if they get in. :whistle

August 28, 200519 yr I don't know about you guys, but I think we can still win the division. It's not easy, but it could happen. I think we might face the Pads then.
