Cabrera at 3B

Wow. Everyone who didn't see the play he made at the hot corner on Friday needs to take another look. Go to mlb.com and then to our team site. The video is there. His reaction and footspeed was blazing. If only Scott Rolen wasn't in the ML we might have the next GG at the position. Anyone who says we are losing defense by starting Cabs over Lowell....Lowell might not even have that.

Yeah it was a good play, looks like he is getting more comfortable as the games pass. He shows of that good arm in that play also.

He's a good defensive third baseman. I want him to stay at third base. We need to trade Lowell and find someone to play LF for us next year.

Willingham should play lf next year.

Cabrera is the 3B of the future for the Marlins. He was never meant to play the outfield, just like Pujols was a firstbaseman playing the outfield for a few years. The only problem is figuring out how to get rid of Lowell.

I'd like to see us trade Lowell, re-sign Encarnacion for RF and move Hermida to LF.

I vote no, his arm and speed isnt that good. I want a good defensive LF/RF players. Keep Hermida there in LF and find a solid RF player with trading of lowell.

Hermida, Conine, Willingham. 3 low cost alternatives who should be able to handle the corner outfield positions.

I wouldn't mind having Encarnacion back, but this is a contract year (with a bad free agent market) so take his production, cut it by about 10% and then figure him to be a $5-$8 million a year guy (depending on how far the Yankees go in the playoffs), and ask again if he's worth it.

You want good defenders in offensive positions? Hell, I want a hall of famer at every position too but sometimes you have to settle for all-stars, quality starters and productive role players. Willingham has some athleticism, he played SS at the Division 1 level just a few years ago and has played catcher recently. His defensive problems behind the plate have been said to be that he is slow reacting to things such as blocking balls in the dirt and transferring to throw. Otherwise a certain uncomfortableness. Cabrera is a fine example of how that does not follow a position around the field.

I've been a supporter of Enc all year. But, Enc won't be back. Hermida is our RF of the future. Use that money to sign starting pitching.

Shh, I was trying to block it out of my head.
