August 16, 200321 yr Phillies will lose tomorrow Haren will dominate You wish. Brett Myers is going to do a number on the Cards with his knee buckling curveball. Haren can get by teams like LA, MON and PIT (the 3 teams he has a win against), but the kid has given up 20 hits in his last 11 1/3 IP. Last game, he gave up 10 hits in 5 1/3 IP to the Pirates, but managed to only give up one run (says something about the Pirates offense). The Phillies beat the Cards 7-4 last night even without their leadoff man until the 6th or 7th inning and their best hitter (average wise) in Mike Lieberthal. Myers will get his 12th win tonight. Mark it down. Myers has won in 6 of his last 7 decisions, the only loss being a rough outing last time in Pac Bell vs the Giants who got to him early. It's only a matter of time before the Phils bats strike Haren (maybe even the first inning again). I am eager to see how Scott Rolen performs after the tenacious booing and an 0-for-4 game up to the 7th inning while he come out in a double switch. :lol
August 16, 200321 yr wouldnt the wild card, no matter what, start on the road? or is it by record? By record. Marlins example: we had home field advantage to start the 97 playoffs. I'm pretty sure they've changed that, so the Wild Card team can't have home field advantage. the division champions go by record, but the wildcard cant get homefield advantage in the league playoffs. in '97, if that series had gone 5, games 4 and 5 wouldve been out west. so the wildcard never had home field advantage, its just that they started at home but they changed that.
August 16, 200321 yr 1-0 Phils after 1... Haren escaped a bases loaded, 1 out jam by getting Pat the Bat to gidp
August 17, 200321 yr 4-3 Phillies on a 2 run bomb by Thome(Abreu drove in the other run with a double)
