September 27, 200521 yr The two absolute perfect targets are BJ Ryan and Brian Giles...to a lesser extent, Jeff Weaver. We're not likely to get any of them, but those are the names to remember.
September 28, 200521 yr They need a whole freaking bullpen!!!!!!!!!! They need to get some people that aren't on the scrap heap. They also need to get rid of Lowell and Pierre.

September 28, 200521 yr Carlos Lee if Milwaukee doesn't pick up the option. Loria isn't going to shell out that kind of money again.
September 28, 200521 yr With Hermida capable in rightfield and Cabrera better at third, we have a lot of options to plug into leftfield. Although it would be nice if he were capable of spot-starting for Pierre should he stink again or leave next year. I'd like a decent veteran to go with Willis, Beckett, Vargas and Olsen. Johnson, Bump and Kensing in long relief and/or minors. 1 and 2 relief pitchers to go with Alfonseca, Mota and Villone. And a good bench. Especially if the new manager is Johnson or Pena.
September 28, 200521 yr I say let Niner have one more shot at the postseason, since this year didn't go as planned. Trade Lowell to the Twins hoping they still want him and get Loshe back, and a prospect or two if available. Make Jon Mabry a competitive offer(LH bat off the bench, versatile). Trade something for a LF, a good young one if possible maybe also do it in a 3 way with the Yanks sending Pierre there(plugging Aguila into CF). The Yanks will overpay for Pierre.
September 28, 200521 yr I think we should pick up this hot prospect... He can play all positions and has a perplexing slow-ball that he can use to strike out the side on one pitch. :whistle

After he twists his arm up ten or fifteen time and unfurls it, no one can hit it.

And Conine gets a shot at the post-season with this team, how?
