If it was the beggining of the season I would have picked Juan Encarnacion I mean 2 grand slams but now I am going to pick miguel hopefully he can keep up the good work. :notworthy

Team MVP? Delgado, because he got Cabrera pitches to hit and he actually showed up in September, plus he plays every day.

Toss up between three or four - Delgado, Cabrera, Willis and Jones.

 

All their contributions can't be understated.

 

Delgado gave us another power bat that we've been lacking for years, and we have a lethal 1-2 punch with him and Cabrera. It's just a shame the players around didn't give them more chances.

 

Cabrera is just getting better and better. His numbers are fantastic for 22 years old.

 

Todd Jones has been lights out apart from the 10-run 9th fiasco a few weeks ago. I shudder to think our record if we didn't have him in the bullpen. Very reliable closer.

 

Dontrelle Willis is phenomenal. What a competitor. I just love watching him play because he's so intense. Plus he carries a mean bat to boot. Who in the hell heard of a pitcher batting 7th?

 

I choose Willis. I know choosing a pitcher as MVP is kinda ridiculous as he doesn't play every day, but when he has played, he's been extremely good. cabrera a close second.

I picked Willis because the team always rallied around him. He was the foundation and franchise player every 5 days. I also feel that if Willis has a spectacular final start, he should not only win the Cy Young Award, but should seriously be considered for the NL MVP because there hasn't been a true standout among the position players. There are alot of good ones, but no one above the rest. Willis, on the other hand, has been the brightest star in the NL this season.

gotta pick dontrelle, i don't even want to count what our record is in games he didn't pitch in. plus, his energy and his attitude have been such a plus for us. with all respect to delgado and cabs, dontrelle gets my vote.

I'm going with the D-Train. He, by far, exceeded expectations.

 

Cabrera would be second, then either Delgado or Jones.

 

And why isn't Jones included in the poll? He certainly deserves to be there more than Pierre, Castillo, LoDuca and Beckett.

This isn't even close at all. Dontrelle became the first player to have over 20 wins in team history and stopped several losing streaks. Many of his wins were games where the offense played like crap. Without him, the Marlins would have been elimated much earlier.

Miguel Cabrera, having a spectacular year along with Delgado. Both Make up for most of our runs.

Without a doubt: Dontrelle Willis.
