October 10, 200520 yr Seeing Giambi win the comeback player of the month - how he got his act together after last season and all - got me thinking... about Mike Lowell What are your feelings on him as far as 2006 is concerned. This is strictly based on performace; what do you think he'll do at the plate? Can he get back to his old form? or is he a done? what's the deal?
October 10, 200520 yr TRADE HIM!!! He is done... He has been super cold for the past season and a half... Scouts have said that he has lost 5mph off his swing... thats huge for a MLB hitter... it is evident that even his doubles that in the past were off the wall, are now just gappers.... Sorry to say this, this is probably another case of steroids.... (just look at Bret Boone) Giambi was a WHOLE different story... Giamby had to go through injuries, diseases, and the steroid admittance media monster.... After all that, I'm surprised he is even in the bigs at this point... Im happy for Giamby...
October 10, 200520 yr He's untradeable, but 2006 can't possibly be any worse than his 2005. If he hits .260 with 15 home-runs next season, I think we'll be lucky. FWIW, I think Sosa may have more in the tank for '06 than Lowell...remember, it wasn't just this year that was Lowell's problem, it was the second half of '04 and all of this year's S.T.

October 10, 200520 yr I don't think he's done. I agree, i don't feel Mikey is done just yet... i mean did he have a bad year yes, but his glove is amazing. He did still hit 30+ doubles this year and drove in 50+ runs..not the numbers you are used to seeing or expecting from Lowell, but everyone has a bad year in their careers....no one is a .320-50-120 guy every year of his career. I think Mikey deserves the chance to play here next year and prove that it was just a bad yet.

Mikey is such a good guy it really hurts me to see him struggle so badly. I do think he will work very hard this offseason but I hate getting my hopes up.
