Rumor: AL playoff OFer to be suspended

Featured Replies

I can't see MLB pointing out a Yankee or Red Sock as a roider.

I can. Suspending a Red Sox or Yankees player for roids is exactly what MLB needs for them to get congress off their backs.

For those of you suggesting a backup outfielder (Kapler), that isn't true within the context of the rumor.

Supposedly this will be a name "we care about."

Not to mention Kapler was out all postseason (and next year) with a ruptured achillies' tendon. My money is on Damon, Sheffield or Podsednik (if only because it has been some of the smaller, faster guys)

If it is Podsednik Astros fans are going to throw a fit.

if it's Jermaine Dye they'll throw a fit.

ESPNews just confirmed...it's Lawton.

Hardly a name that people "care about" given the context of the breaking news. Yawn.

Yup. They're talking about it now.

Having not seen that it's true myself, I'll just assume that it is.

Before anybody says "Ha ha, he's a Yankee", just consider Lawton was also on the Pirates and the Cubs during the 2005 season. He didn't necessarily do it as a member of the Yankees.

Throughout the season, he kept saying this was probably his last year. If this is true, then yeah, I think he's right...

Who cares about Matt Lawton.

He's a good player. Recent all-star. This year's best leadoff man. Biggest name traded this July.

So he stunk with the Yankees. There is life after the Yankees.
