November 14, 200520 yr I'm just jaw-dropping to the floor in disbelief mortified that a Marlins fan would want Sammy Sosa anywhere near this club, nevermind paying $3 million for him. If we masochistically need a problem-child Milton bradley is out there who, for all his problems would be a better investment than Sosa. He's young, might respond to Girardi (the operative word being "might") and can flat-out play, wheras Sammy hasn't had a productive year since '03. Bradley will most probably be non-tendered giving the Fish (and others) a chance to acquire him for alot less than the guy you folks are talking about. If in fact Pierre is traded (you all know my feelings there) who would you rather have, Bradley or Patterson, especially when the latter would probably cost $2 million more than the former?

I don't want him, I just think it could happen, and I wouldn't necessarily be annoyed if it did. And aside from the one incident with Beckett in the '03 NLCS, there is no bad blood between Sammy and the fish that I'm aware of, plus, Girardi and Sosa were teammates so I see a reason to think that Girardi may be better for Sosa than he would be for Bradley.
