August 25, 200323 yr I'm getting really sick of hearing it from everybody. Even the Marlins fans are pessimistic about it. It's the future, darn it! The future! Everybody's all "Man, this is are last chance! With Uggy leaving, we're dead fish." I'll say that the future is as bright as the present! I'm sick and tired of quietly discussing whether or not we will win next year. I'm not going to quietly debate if we are the Tigers next year. I'M TELLING YOU THAT WE ARE GOING TO BE A GREAT TEAM FOR YEARS TO COME! We've got Dontrelle and most of our other star pitchers coming back, and Burnett comes off the DL sometime next year! We have Cabs who will some day be a Pujols and support our line up. I never want to hear a Marlins fan say we won;t make it next year again! If you're a true Marlins fan you have to be of the same opinion! :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :
August 25, 200323 yr You can't tell people to have your optimistic opinion (believe me). Expecially Fillet 'O Fish. Look, it all depends on a number of things. It depends who Beinfest can bring back, bring in, and at what price tag.
August 25, 200323 yr Marlins fans are actually saying this? Fools. The Marlins have one of the brightest farm systems out there, and even though you'll most likely lose a few important parts, it can only get better. Ok, so Derrek Lee, Luis Castillo, Ivan Rodriguez, and whoever might be on the move, but Jason Stokes is not far behind and the Marlins have a number of candidates they could try out at 2nd next year. Kevin Hooper, Jesus Medrano, Matt Erickson even Miguel Cabrera could all potentially be tried at 2B and do well. At catcher you have a great prospect in Josh Willingham and of course Ramon Castro is no slouch if the Marlins are smart enough to use him next year, assuming they lose Pudge. The sky is the limit for the Marlins, really. Not to mention AJ Burnett coming back and potentially having Josh Beckett healthy an entire season. If Brad Penny can learn how to pitch in the day or just start Carl Pavano next season on Penny's scheduled day starts. Denny Bautista is coming along well and Trevor Hutchinson has moved through the system rapidly.

It depends who Beinfest can bring back, bring in, and at what price tag. Sigh. I agree that it's all highly speculative right now. No in the mood to argue over things that aren't going to happen for 4-6 months, Am much more inclined to just enjoy the ride we are on now. Besides, this arguement has been beaten to death sooo many times already, it's almost worthy to be defined as trolling material.
