December 2, 200520 yr Cabrera is probably one of the top 5 hitters of the league and Willis is probably one of the top 5 young pitchers in the league. I think Cabrera's attitude next season and following will be "get me off this crap ass team" if we end up like the 1998 team or something closely resembling that (basically, not competitve at all). Willis is harder to get a read on because he is more down to earth than cabrera but i also think he'll want to go somewhere else but more so for a team that can compete for a world series. I can see Cabrera leaving for a combination of money and competitiveness. What do you guys think the attitude of these two players will be when a) we are 15 games out of the division lead come july (maybe a little premature but for the sake of argument i want this to be a drastic decline from last year) and b) the season is over?
December 2, 200520 yr Cabrera and Willis. We've seen this before Vladimir Guerrero and Pedro Martinez in the Montreal Expos. Different players, Different teams, Same story, Same front office.
December 2, 200520 yr If Cabrera quit on the 2005 team when September still meant something, he sure as hell is going to mail it in fast on this one. If you're the best hitter on a team with slim playoff aspirations, and you don't show up for BP or treatment, you sure as hell aren't showing up when you're mathematically eliminated in June.
December 2, 200520 yr I won't deny it, Cabrera worries me a lot he is showing a lot of immaturity and a diva attitude. not worried one bit with Dontrelle. He may not sign long term down the road. but. we have bigger problems to worry about at the moment
December 2, 200520 yr Willis will be not too happy once the the Marlins get around to trading Pierre for a couple pitching prospects and a box of Cracker Jacks, that is certain.
December 2, 200520 yr I guess Cabrera still wants to leave now. There is no team behind Willis. :mad We should expel Samson and his mommy who entered Florida illegally and lied to all of us. They kill the moment to go on building baseball traditions here.

And if he does this, we should trade him. He has a job to do and he damn sure better do it.
December 2, 200520 yr Screw that, if I was cabrera i would not resign with the marlins even if they paid me 200 million dollars a day. He's gonna get traded anyways if they don't get the friggin stadium.
December 2, 200520 yr i dont blame them if there mad either.. i expect willis to be very nice about it and say positive stuff like usual cabrera will whine and complain.
December 2, 200520 yr Well hopefully their attitudes will be that they've got to play so great that they'll price themselves out of the Marlins price range and they'll do everything humanly possible to make these trades happen soon. Realistically they're stats should take a downturn this season for obvious reasons which will probably affect their attitudes.
