LoDuca's Replacement?

Featured Replies

Yorvit Torrealba is available and the Mariners are interested in bringing Villone back.

The Pirates have three major league, or ML ready catchers in Cota, Doumit and Ross, and will almost certainly lose Kip Wells and perhaps Redman, so they may be looking for pitching replacements.

If the Dodgers are successful in getting a veteran catcher, Navarro will be available. They are very high on Martin as their backup in almost every scenario out there.

Then there's South Florida resident Todd Pratt (F/A) who has a good reputation for working with young guys, but he can't endure a full ML season behind the plate. I like Treanor but if can somehow pick up Torrealba or Navarro, Pratt would be useful as a backup.

Why would we trade our future for a player that will be too old once we are ready to compete in 2-4yrs?

that should put this argument to rest

The thought of Pudge coming back makes me all tingly inside.

But, in light of recent developments, I doubt it'll happen.
