Not to mention the area in question isn't even in Miami. lolololololol

How many teams actually play in the city they're named after?

The real question is, who pissed in your corn flakes this morning?

Would you rather have a stadium with Huzienga getting healf the profits or no stadium and no team at all?

Um, the whole point of having our own stadium is so we don't have to give Huizenga half the damn profits. If we're going to give him half of everything in the new stadium, we might as well just stay at Pro Player because NOTHING will be different.

The point is even if your going to pay Huzienga 1/2 the profits you still have a brand new sports complex and you keep the team and have a chance at another World Series title.

No, you end up having the same strained revenue sources to draw from, and now without any shot at improving your position. The only people who benefit from such a situation is Huizenga and those who want a team in South Florida no matter how terrible or bankrupt they might be.

No you don't. It's just a continuation of the current situation. It wouldn't change anything.

Look I realize you don't live here, you're a provacateur pandering to the worst in scared people, but all areas of Miami-Dade County which are not in recognized municipalities (Coral Gables, Hialeah, City of Miami, city of North Miami, Kendall, even El Portal or Biscayne Park, etc.), including that portion known as unincorporated Miami-Dade, have an address which says Miami, referring to the county not the city.

The board of the city of Miami is about 100 blocks (give or take) south of the stadium.

Loria brang us the 3 best years in franchise history. He brang us the 2003 World Series title and two straight winning season there after.

If the government and fans in South Florida dont support the team and don't support and new stadium then maybe the team should move to somewhere were they will be supported.

The Marlins might average 65,000 for a post-season game, but where are all of those people during the regular season? Where were all those people in the 1998-2002 season when there were about 10,000 a game?!? Bandwagoners!

Actually, the city of Miami line is around 79th Street. North of that is unincorporated Miami-Dade County, but it's not technically the city of Miami. Those bozos in Coconut Grove (Diaz and Arriollo) don't have any jurisdiction north of 79th street.

Jesus dude, who kicked your dog today?

Can I ask just a dumb question, go ahead and answer it if you feel like it or just go "lolololol" if you feel like it too.

You've defended Loria, tooth and nail, praising every action of his saying that "since you've been on the business end before" you can completely empathize with a man looking out for #1. It's debateable that you may even get off on this whole firesale thing, but that's irrelevant.

What is curious to me is the hate for Huizenga yet the love for Loria. Ignoring that Loria is trying to do his best impression of Wayne circa 1998, only with worse intentions (since Huizenga gutted the team to sell to a local investor investor in Don Smiley, while Loria is gutting the team to move to a new market or wallow in mediocrity for the forseeable future in "Miami"), why such hatred for Wayne? Isn't he being a responsible business man looking out for his best interests? Why such praise for Loria doing the "responsible thing" and deciding that he likes to make money? Is it unacceptable for Wayne to want to make money, especially when he's (presumably) the only one bringing tangiable assets to the negotiating table?

Wayne should just rebuy the team

Why buy the cow when you get the milk for free? Of course he doesnt want to, but he should. Anything that will get the midgett out from the bulldozer chair.

How can you expect me to respond when you totally misrepresent my position on all this?

LoriaLovesVegas, again, owners aren't in the business of awarding you for nothing.

TSwift, I think the difference here is that Huizenga actually lied. He cooked the books to try to convince the politicians to build a stadium. Loria doesn't have to cook the books. The revenue is not there to manipulate. In this Huizenga has been nothing more than a thief, unwilling to renegotiate the lease. You know this. Yet for some reason, you believe he actually wants to help Loria and the Marlins?
