orlumeca
Is Jeff Borowski a better fit for the Marlins than Todd Jones? I know he struggled in Chicago, and then he looked good as a Devil Ray could Borowski be better than Todd Jones, remember Jeff is now pitching in a pitcher friendly park?Who has the better stuff and control? ultimopain
I think Borowski has a good shot at being our closer. I'd love to see him have a Todd Jones rebound type year, but I doubt it. It'll give Bowyer, Resop and Messenger some veteran leadership and give them some more time to develop before one of them becomes a closer. MarlinFan10
Let Resop shut the door. He should be just dandy in the role.
8yrGator
Let joe close...hopefully he does well and we deal him around the break let resop setup to start the year, then take over the closer role after we deal joe
FutureGM
At this point I could be our closer. Resop is going to have to look a lot better than last year before he becomes the closer. Right now I say that Borowski is the favorite.

Hotcorner
First of all he's not Todd Jones. Borowski can't strike anyone out either .... at best he's more like an Antonio Alfonseca. We've got Travis Bowyer & his 97 mph fastball to groom as our future closer. I'd suggest using Bowyer as the setup guy for Borowski (or vice versa) & then move Borowski around the trade deadline. Then you'd have Bowyer & Resop for the back end.
TSwift25
Borowski's the closer to start the year. Or Nate Bump. Bowyer and Resop aren't getting thrown out there in the 9th inning right away. That's not suggesting that Borowski has better stuff, or would be a better "in a vacuum" closer, but the developmental damage that could be done to Bowyer or Resop is just too great to throw them into a pressure situation right off the bat. Besides, one way or another, Bowyer will be the closer by August. If Borowski flat out sucks, Bowyer will eventually get the job. If Borowski is lights out, he'll be dealt at the deadline. fanofthefish
CLoser?!!??! Does that mean they're going to win some games? Just kidding, Borowski should do well pitching at home in that big park. He may even return to his previous glory he had with the Cubs. That would allow Bowyer or Resop some time to ease into the roll of closer.
rorod
Later on in the season... Bowyer from the twins is the closer...i like prospects from the twins system always seem to turn out well. Resop to set up. but in the beggining let Joe show the young guys how to do it.
