Gerald Williams Called Up

Featured Replies

It seems that in addition to the Conine trade Gerald Williams got called up. It is a snippet from the Marlins MLB article on the trade. (Link)

In addition to acquiring Conine, the Marlins have selected the contract of outfielder Gerald Williams from Triple-A Albuquerque. Outfielder Todd Hollandsworth and left-handed relief pitcher Tommy Phelps are expected to come off the disabled list on Monday.

I don't think he would be eligible for the playoffs, though I could be wrong.

yeah happy to see gerald williams get called up. Seems like he was doing pretty well in the minors. He hit for the cycle one game had another where he went deep twice. Can be a good pitch-hitter steal some bases and OF defensive replacement.

Orestes D. Where were you when I was getting bashed by the clique herein for suggesting it was time to bring up G.Williams. He is not going to take the place of any of our starters but he will be an asset. Anxious to see him play some Left Field and maybe as a Center Field sub.
