September 2, 200322 yr Anyone else think Penny should be traded for an inexpensive bat? Anyone? Pavano is just too cool to put in the pen. Oh wait, you'd rather traded great prospects for $4,000,000 has-beens. Just don't let JP Ricciardi, Theo Epstein, or Billy Beane get to the Marlins, they'd rape them. Let's see... they'd probably take undervalued Brian Banks, Ramon Castro, and Derrek Lee from you all, as well as the rest of your minor league system. In return? You get Terrance Long, Ramon Hernandez, and Mike Bordick. Cheers. Yes, b/c that would be the smart thing to do....trade a starting pitcher in September while in the midst of a Wild Card race. Awesome.
September 2, 200322 yr Furman , Dont waste your time answering that pinheads post he is a mental midget and is only here to cause problems . Look at his avatar he is a friggin Braves fan .
September 2, 200322 yr well i can only hope he meant next year FG... Since the offense might take a step back with Pudge gone they may very well trade one of the pitchers for another bat & then hope AJ is back at the break. Although I don't know exactly where this bat is going to play. The position players would already be set, unless you upgrade somewhere....and if he's just talking about an "inexpensive bat" then I doubt you could get much of an upgrade over what we've got. Personally I'd keep the rotation exactly the same.
September 2, 200322 yr since our offense presumably wont be as good as this year, we might as well make sure at least our pitching is solid (i.e. Braves of the 90s)
