Olivo?

Miguel Olivo - C - Marlins

Miguel Olivo, who has caught Dontrelle Willis' last two starts, is expected to catch on Opening Day for the Marlins.

It's unclear just how much time Olivo will get with Josh Willingham set to play both left field and catch, but three starts per week would be a good guess. Expect him to keep catching Willis as long as the left-hander is happy with the assignment. Mar. 29 - 3:54 pm et

If it keeps Dontrelle happy, I'm fine with keeping him.

Someone also posted an article earlier from mlb.marlins.com that suggested the Marlins will carry all 3 catchers (Hammer, Olivo, Treanor). That would leave us here...

25th man...????

I don't who else is left...

Kinkade, Cepicky, Little out

Maybe they carry Randy Messenger until Olsen returns on April 15th?

If Willis wants him, I guess is OK.

But that's all I would like to see him catch (at least for now). not 3 times a week.

If we want Willy to catch, let him play the majority of the time behind the play.

I guess they aren't sold yet on Willy behind the plate?

Yeah, I really hope 3 times a week is a stretch here. Personal catcher for Willis? Fine.

25th man...has to be Messenger

Unless we release or trade someone we can't even pick some up a player that has been released by their team (Our 40 man roster is full)

I'm still not convinced that Abercrombie wins the starting CF job over Aguila, who has been on fire the last 10 days and has enough MLB experience to provide a certain comfort level for the manager that Reggie won't.

I wish that some day in the future....

Not that it means much, but Willis was on 790 a few hours ago & a caller asked him if he had a preference on who caught him, & he said he's fine either way because he's worked great with all three of them.

I'm glad to hear Treanor will make the team. His bat has been on fire the entire spring, and IMO has out played Olivo and is more deserving of a roster spot.
