April 4, 200620 yr I love BSSM and I really like Californication. However, By The Way on the whole was really really boring. And I actually don't think that Dani California song is anything special. The verses sound like a cover of Last Dance With Mary Jane, and the chorus is pretty lame. Sorry for being hypercritical. I hope the rest of the album is better.
April 4, 200620 yr I haven't heard any of the news songs, but I'll certainly be getting this since the Chilli Peppers are awesome. The Zephr Song has so much awesomeness.
April 4, 200620 yr Im a bigger Frusceante fan than a RHCP fan ... and I heard that in this album he's leaving behind his "less is more" attitude and actually starts to play some guitar I'd like to hear it
April 4, 200620 yr They haven't had a good cover since BSSM, it's whats inside that counts. well I kinda liked the BY THE WAY cover ... cool pastels with a cool sound to go with it worked for me this one just takes it to another level
April 5, 200620 yr I heard the Dani California single on iTunes and thought it was pretty good. The thing I like about RHCP is that they don't recycle the same sound for every album like some other bands do and every album is unique in its own way from the previous one. I have no doubts that this will be another great one! :thumbup
April 5, 200620 yr CD + concert ticket? How much? How does that work? It's an offer, I'll get to pre-order tickets before the general public if I want. I mostly got it on iTunes because I want the band commentary, making of video, music video, and digital booklet. I'll be buying the CDs as well.
April 6, 200620 yr Author i absolutely love the dani california song.. probably because they haven't had any new stuff for what seems like forever. the video is cool as hell, btw.
April 7, 200620 yr i absolutely love the dani california song.. probably because they haven't had any new stuff for what seems like forever. the video is cool as hell, btw. Agreed on both counts. I'm just glad they are getting back into the funk a bit, that's why I started to love them in the first place. By The Way was way too mellowed out for me and is probably my least favorite album of theirs (still pretty damn good though). I love the video, I've watched it probably 10 times by now. Flea and Frusciante in the beatles outfits is awesome as is Flea as David Bowie. The end when they are rocking it out as themselves is the icing on the cake.
May 17, 200620 yr I think that Dani California is the best song on the album, after listening to the entire thing. Few of the other songs are even close to that good.
May 17, 200620 yr This is my favorite Chili Peppers Album and probably my favorite of 2006. There's so many great songs that I can listen to over and over again. Lately, I've been playing She Looks To Me a lot, awesome song.
May 18, 200620 yr some of the songs lack a bit of effort but I guess its what happens when you record a double disk
