April 28, 200620 yr I heard on 610 AM(local sports radio station in New Mexico) that the Dolphins have been granted permission to talk contract with Green Bay WR Javon Walker in hopes of making a trade. For those of you that have also heard this, what do you think? Sounds like Green Bay would want our 1st rounder or a future second rounder and someone like Marty Booker. Personally I would rather keep our 1st rounder and draft a stud who will not be so expensiive. Javon is great but I don't think there would be enough balls to go around with Chris Chambers, Javon Walker, Randy McMichael and Ronnie Brown coming out of the backfield.. I would do it for maybe a third or fourth rounder but not for our first. Your thoughts?
April 28, 200620 yr A WR with one good year coming off major knee surgery wanting a huge contract and Green Bay is asking for a 1st or 2nd rounder AND another player. I'd love to have Javon Walker, but I don't think I'd give up more than a 2nd rounder in 2007 or 3rd rounder this year for him. Perhaps the pick could be conditional based on performance, but we'll see. I fully trust Nick Saban to do the right thing.
April 28, 200620 yr I'd do it for a 5th rounder. He is not worth a first, second, third or fourth rounder.
April 28, 200620 yr Yeah, no way...I'd rather just draft that WR from Florida and take a chance on him, rather than take a chance on a guy who is coming off a season-ending knee injury.
April 28, 200620 yr The Eagles offered Hollis Thomas and a 4th and the pack said no....No way anyone gives up a 1st for him
April 28, 200620 yr Denver is reportedly going to offer a 2nd and ashlee leelee and that should get the deal done....lets see what happens

Lelie has never lived up to his potential. And there is speculation from many NFL columnists that the Broncos are going to draft a Wide Receiver and get rid of Lelie. Just look at sportsline.
April 29, 200620 yr I'd do it for a 5th rounder. He is not worth a first, second, third or fourth rounder. thats the kind of logic i like!

April 29, 200620 yr Ya with Ricky gone, we need to really gear up on offense. Whether Pepper or Harrington is the QB, we need to have more offensive threats than last year.

April 29, 200620 yr Seriously, anyone who pays more than a 4th rounder for walker is paying too much. The guy has exceptional talent but he had a knee injury and also he is in the last year of his contract. The trade with Denver that I heard was Lelie for walker straight up and no picks involved. It would be a great pickup for the phins though. I wish he would have been available before the skins signed Randall El.
April 30, 200620 yr I don't think I'd give up more than a 2nd rounder in 2007 or 3rd rounder this year for him. Hey, a second rounder this year? I think the Broncos got him for a steal. Smith, Lelee, and Walker? That's three awesome targets for Cutler to blossom under. Ya with Ricky gone, we need to really gear up on offense. How do you feel about drafting a safety coming off of career threatening hip surgery instead? On the plus side, even though he is only 6 foot tall he has a 40" vertical leap. Weird draft.
