June 21, 200620 yr MIAMI ? Jacob Solkoff could barely reach the microphone at the Miami-Dade County Commission meeting Tuesday, but the 7-year-old delivered a big message: more than 2,000 signatures on petitions to keep the Marlins in South Florida. Solkoff, a Marlins fan from Wellington who formed a club called The Billys named for Billy the Marlin, has been collecting signatures in person and online at his Web site, www.keepthemarlins.net, for months. I come here today because I want you to know what I've done," Solkoff told the commissioners. "I have over 2,000 signatures from people of all ages." He then added almost incredulously: "Do you know the Marlins have won eight games straight?" The commission and the audience applauded. Jacob's father Scott Solkoff and his grandparents Jerome and Doreen Solkoff of Delray Beach accompanied Jacob. Jacob said he hoped the signatures would encourage the commission to help pay for a new stadium. Miami-Dade County, city of Hialeah and Marlins officials are in talks to finance a stadium in Hialeah. Billy the Marlin and two Marlins Mermaids surprised Jacob at the meeting and the commission presented him with a certificate of appreciation. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/basebal...-sports-marlins :thumbup His site: http://www.keepthemarlins.net/

There was this one at a game he had to of been like 4 and he totally knew every ball player and every move - he was amazing. BTW - the Marlins Fan package is awesome! - I think that they did a good job hooking everyone up!
