July 6, 200620 yr Great job on the comedy nominations, all outstand choices if you look past two and half men.
July 6, 200620 yr Yeah, two and a half men is one of the worst show's I've seen. Formulaic as hell, the writing is just bad and Sheens looks like he couldn't give a f*** (and I don't blame him). I gotta' think he's nominated out of pity.
July 6, 200620 yr Author My thoughts: The biggest snub has to be Hugh Laurie. The show gets nominated for Best Drama and he doesn't get a nomination. Hugh Laurie IS the show. LOST? Where is Lost?!?!? Congrats to Henry Ian Cusack (Desmond) for getting nominated but Michael Emerson (Fake Gale) was 10x better. 24 got the most nominations deservedly so. Jean Smart and Gregory Itzin definately deserved them as well. This new system was supposed to help out the soon-to-be-defunt netlets WB and UPN. Didn't happen. Kevin James actually got nomnation which is kind of suprising since he's been overlooked the past 8 years. Steve Carrel got a nomination. That's great news. Denis Leary also got a nomination. I've seen very little of Rescue Me but he's very good and definately deserves it.
July 6, 200620 yr My only complaint would be Kevin James and Charlie Sheen getting nominated instead of Zach Braff and Jason Bateman.
July 6, 200620 yr Leary's nom is long overdue. Lost totally got the shaft. House? C'mon. FWIW Krispy, I think Emerson would qualify for supporting actor not guest actor.

July 6, 200620 yr Author Leary's nom is long overdue. Lost totally got the shaft. House? C'mon. FWIW Krispy, I think Emerson would qualify for supporting actor not guest actor. Leary's nomination isn't THAT overdue. This nomination is for his work in the 2nd season. Emerson was not a cast member this season; he's listed as a recurring character. Supporting Actors must officially be on the cast. In fact, if you look at each episode he was in, it lists him as a special guest star or guest star. He's actually going to become a series regular next season. I can dig it up in the Ausiello Report if you find it necessary for me to do so.

Emerson does not fit the bill. http://emmys.org/downloads/PT_rules2006.pdf (The official rules, in a PDF file, page 46 of 66)
July 6, 200620 yr Um, ok? I don't exactly get your point. I just assumed if he wasn't a guest star that would make him a supporting actor (going up the ladder).
July 6, 200620 yr Author Um, ok? I don't exactly get your point. I just assumed if he wasn't a guest star that would make him a supporting actor (going up the ladder). He isn't a guest star because he has more than 6 appearances on the show. He can't qualify for supporting actor because he isn't a series regular.

Again I was only refuting you refuting me over him being a guest star. I don't know why you are getting so defensive. I wasn't talking down to you or out to prove you wrong and was originally just going on my own intuition.
July 6, 200620 yr Author You didn't understand it the first time I posted it so I did it in bullet format. I'm sorry if that felt childish or defensive to you. Let's just drop the conversation and marvel at the wonderful aspects of the Emmys. :thumbup
July 6, 200620 yr Boo to Hugh Laurie not getting the nod at Best Actor in a Drama series. *roots for House, Monk, and the Law and Orders*
July 7, 200620 yr LOST? Where is Lost?!?!? Congrats to Henry Ian Cusack (Desmond) for getting nominated but Michael Emerson (Fake Gale) was 10x better. My thoughts exactly! I thought I was blind and did not see. I think the reason that Lost didn't get nominated is because it has no big names in it. Who wants to honor a series (again) that proves you can be successful without the 'star' on the show. Don't forget it got some negative publicity this year over the drunk driving charges. I'm not saying that the other shows aren't deserving but that's my opinion.
July 7, 200620 yr This season of The Sopranos was terrible. I have no idea how they got a nomination. Very nice to see Carell and Leary get nominated.
