Oh man, Cro Cop and Silva is going to be insane. Cro Cop is the deadliest striker on the planet ... bar none.

Funny you mention that, Crocop as of yesterday has pulled out indefinitely of the final round grand prix due to money issues. His manager is known for crap like this, though Pride should defintely be treating him well, he works a ton, most top guys only fight 2 or 3 times a year, he has fought like 8 times in the last two years, including a title bout where he gave Fedor his stiffest fight yet.

Crocop also mentioned getting offered a big contract by the WFA, a start up org in the US, though I think Pride is gonna abdicate and shell out the big bucks as Mirko is a huge draw.

Crocop back in, thank God.

Ken/Tito 3 is heavily rumored to be the main event for Ultimate Fight Night on 10/10. I like the move to air it free on cable as alot of fans felt ripped off with the controversial stoppage in the last fight. With the ref being retiscent to stop the fight, I hope Tito takes advantage of this momentous oppertunity to absolutely nuke Shamrock into retirement.

BONNAR SUSPENDED FOR NINE MONTHS AFTER STEROIDS ADMISSION

By: Stash Capar

UFC light heavyweight competitor and The Ultimate Fighter season one finalist Stephan Bonnar was given an opportunity to defend allegations of steroid use before the Nevada State Athletic Commission during disciplinary hearings held earlier today.

The fighter, who tested positive for boldenone metabolite, a non approved substance by NSAC regulations, admitted to using the steroid, calling it ?the worst decision of his life."

?I had serious nagging injuries [before his fight with Griffin] that wouldn?t go away,? said Bonnar. ?This was the biggest fight of my career and I wasn?t going to pull out?three weeks before the fight I became desperate, so I purchased the steroid and began taking it."

After explaining his rationale for taking the banned substance, Bonnar apologized for his actions.

?I just want to express my apologies,? said Bonnar. ?I took a substance which I knew was not approved by the commission and I regret it. I ask for the forgiveness of the commission, the forgiveness of the UFC and the forgiveness of the fans."

Although the NSAC found Bonnar?s apologies ?refreshing," a motion was passed to suspend Bonnar for nine months, with an additional fine of $5,000.

Bonnar?s representatives tried to minimize the fine, pointing out that their client had already suffered greatly.

?If you do a Google search on Stephan right now, eight out of ten hits will refer you to a failed drug test,? said one of Bonnar?s representatives. ?Stephan has already suffered greatly?he is not someone who is making millions of dollars."

Besides the fine and suspension, Bonnar?s television contract with Spike TV was recently terminated. The popular mixed martial artist was to act as a commentator and reporter for future MMA related shows.

?I lost something that I truly enjoyed, something that I could have done after I was done with fighting,? explained Bonnar.

The NSAC concluded the hearing by saying that the use of steroids is becoming an increasingly evident problem in mixed martial arts - a problem that they hope will soon get under control.

That's surprising, he seems like one of the more educated and personable MMA fighters. I'm surprised more guys haven't tested positive from the UFC (Shawn Sherk, that guy is massive -- also Matt Hughes).

Off to watch the fights.. hopefully the Miletich boys do Davenport proud!

GSP IS YOUR NEW WELTERWEIGHT CHAMP!!!!!!!!!!! He totally dominated Hughes -- I've never seen Matt look that bad ever. That kick to the head that initially rocked Hughes in the 2nd reminded of Liddell kncoking out Babalu.

Pretty much a sh*tty card until that fight, man I'm so happy for GSP. Glad to see a nice guy like GSP takes that arrogant prick's belt.

It was either Manny vs Erick Morales or this tonight and I went against my usual judgement and picked UFC. I'll say that it was one of the more boring UFC cards I;ve ever seen. That Sylvia-Monson fight was B-R-Utal.

At least I can watch the boxing fight next week on HBO.

I can't believe he walked through Hughes like that, knowing the UFC there will probably be a rematch relatively soon, probably after GSP ultimately dispatches Serra. I'd love to see Sanchez/GSP next, with Hughes fighting Karo to setup the rematch. UFC WW division is seriously loaded from top to bottom, definitely one of the better divisions in all of MMA.

I was hoping Monson would sink in that anaconda choke, but alas. LOL at Sylvia flicking off the crowd for booing him, like its thier fault that he decides to be ultra-defensive when Monson's eyes are swollen shut. Guy definitely cares about keeping the title more than finishing a fight. He has bills to play so I don't totally kill him for it but as a fan its hard to watch his defensive, ogre-like style. I hope they pair him with Vera soon, Vera is the only guy who can beat him in the UFC, unless they import a guy from Pride (Aleks Emelianenko apparently is throwing around coming to the UFC).

Mir needs to f***ing retire or join a new gym and start from scratch cause since his return he got beat by a guy making his mma debut, squeaked a dec by a very raw TUF guy, and got absolutely anniliated by Vera.

I thought it was a good card with lots of finishes, the only seriously bad fight was Slyiva/Monson which was thankfully saved by the GSP/Hughes fight. Any time a #1 and #2 in the world face off each other you gotta catch it.

Arrogant prick? He's like the nicest guy you'll ever meet.

And he's also a cocky jerk (granted he has earned it) who treats other fighters like they are beneath him. Some of the sh*t he did to GSP before he pulled out of the first fight was ridiculous. It's nice to see a real nice guy like Georges take him down a peg.

Hughes, along with Fedor, is the only guy I'd consider a HOF'er in MMA, so I cut him some slack for some of the crap he pulls. Though, I don't think he aims to demean other fighters, I think he just genuinely thinks he is the sh*t and on another tier compared to other fighters, which he is. GSP is now too.

Fedor vs. Hunt for NYE, btw. LOL!
