Agree with the previous comments. Last week's episode was arguably the best episode of Survivor ever. I'm really excited for the remainder of this season. I'm amazed that we've gotten such good developments recently since this season started out terribly (IMO).

 

I'm pulling for Earl / Yau Man.

My prediction for the final 3:

It's gonna be interesting to say the least. After Cassandra betrayed Earl and Yau-Man the question remains how the numbers will fall out this time. Will Dreamz, Cassandra, and Boo stick together? Earl has the hidden idol now, and I think he would share it with Yau-Man if need be, but if the numbers work out against them, it's going to be hard for them to guess whether to have Earl or Yau-Man play the idol. Or Earl could tell Cassandra he has the idol, and use that to convince her to vote with them...a million different things could happen.

 

Dreamz really has to keep going after Yau-Man because he's in real trouble at 4, if Yau-Man is still around. But it's in Yau-Man's best interest to keep Dreamz around. I really think if Boo does not win the next immunity, then he will be the next to go. I think Cassandra would join with Earl and Yau-Man to vote off Boo, rather than take any chance that she could be the next one to go if Earl or Yau-Man play the idol. I think the most likely final three at this point is Earl, Yau-Man, and Cassandra...but it could be anybody.

 

Dreamz is really in a huge pickle though if he can't get rid of Yau-Man.

 

This should be one of the best finales ever.

Just thinking about it a little further, Cassandra can basically assure her spot in the final 3, as opposed to Dreamz, by agreeing to vote with Yau-Man and Earl. She tells them that she will agree to vote out Boo if they agree to vote out Dreamz instead of her in F4. In a final 3, she may have a shot at winning, even against 2 stronger competitors...that's the thing about having a Final 3 instead of a Final 2. If Yau-Man and Earl split votes, and then Cassandra picks up all the votes from the whiny, petty type people who resent Earl and Yau-Man, she could pull it out.

Best reality show moment ever?

Yau Man could have been possibly the greatest Survivor strategist to ever play the game, but he came up short when it counted. He should have realized, given Dreamz past, that he couldn't just rely on Dreamz's word to give him the immunity necklace. He needed to modify the deal, especially after Jeff made it known the top three would be going to the jury.

 

That said, Dreamz is a scatterbrained shifty joker who was too stupid to realize that he had backstabbed too many or was otherwise on bad terms with too many on the jury to win. So I didn't hold that against him when he voted off Yau. But I did take offense when he sat there at the reunion show acting like what he did was all fun and games. Yeah, really funny voting off the guy who gave you a ride. I think he supplanted Johnny Fairplay and possibly Richard Hatch as the biggest scumbag to play the game.

The very least Dreamz could have done was just admit that he had changed his mind. Don't lie to the guy who gave you a trucks face and keep saying it was your plan all along. If that was the plan, I could have accepted that he had a strategy and was playing the game the whole time. But when you keep saying how bad you want to keep your word and how you want to set an example for your kid during the private interviews, you are obviously lying. During those interviews there is no reason to lie...no other contestants can hear you.

 

That said Yau made a mistake trusting him. When it was down to the two of them in the immunity challenge, he should have modified the deal.

He obviously changed his mind. Any time you want to know what a player is really thinking just pay attention to the confessionals. There's no reason to lie during those, and yet Dreamz continued to talk about how bad he wanted to prove that he was a man of his word. He got those big ole dollar signs in his eyes once he won immunity, though.

 

I was a little disappointed that he wasn't able to keep his word, but I can't really blame him. All the lying after the game bothers me a lot more than what he did during the game. This was Season number 14 of this show. By now it should be accepted that everything that happens in the game is just part of a game. There are no morals in Survivor. And you can't ask a guy to fall on his sword in this game. If you put someone in a position where they have to make a decision to either stay in the game or to essentially commit Survivor suicide then you're going to find that most of the time they're going to choose to stay in the game...no matter what. But it's not true that Dreamz's decision didn't have consequences. Even within the confines of the game, he basically stole a truck...and that's not something that's going to win you a lot of votes. It was a self-defeating decision. The second he did that, Earl won. But still, I don't think you can blame a guy who used to live on the streets for choosing to give himself a shot at a million dollars. He showed all game he was very impulsive, thinking only in the moment for the most part, and Yau was aware of that.

 

Even before Yau got voted off I was wondering why Yau didn't promise Dreamz he wouldn't vote for him if Dreamz gave him the necklace. It would have made Dreamz's decision a lot easier. Dreamz gives Yau the necklace, and the two of them vote for Cassandra. Maybe Earl joins in, maybe he doesn't...but even a split gives Dreamz more than a fighting chance against Cassandra in a fire building challenge. I mean, Cassandra was useless...my guess is she wouldn't have been able to make a fire. If Yau-Man had made the Final 3, he probably would've beaten anybody.

 

Special shout out to Alex for being the biggest loser ever and for badgering Cassandra with a "question" based on completely incorrect information. And to Lisi, for being completely delusional.

 

Looking forward to Survivor:China.

Best season in a while, imo. Interesting characters. We've got a few hot women this time.

 

I'm mad that Ashley's breast won't be gracing my television screen anymore. You could obviously tell they were banking on her to go very far. There has already been 3 physical challenges and from the look of the preview, more is to come.

I'm still laughing. Also, James is quite possibly my favorite contestant ever.

I like James quite a bit. Not my favorite ever--I generally dig the really strategic players and the absolute psychopaths--but he's one of my faves this season.

It's been an above average season. I really haven't enjoyed Survivor this much in quite a while.

I enjoy every season, but I actually enjoyed both of last year's season more than this one. I can't remember that well beyond that.

 

There's no great strategist on this season. Amanda is the only one who seems to be strategizing with any consistency or sense. Todd is all over the place. The other players are kind of just there. Really, none of the players left--except maybe Amanda--are excellent at either the social game or at challenges. This is one of the least excellent Final 6's I can remember.

 

Next season by the way will be an All-Star season. It's either going to be all All-Stars or half All-Stars, but the rumors are pretty strong right now for half All-Stars. Either way, it's already shooting. Word of warning: Do not look to see who is rumored to be on next season if you don't want to be semi-spoiled about this season. I made that mistake. I don't remember the full list, and I'm not going to recheck, but it looks like Fairplay is coming back, which is suprising since Probst hates him.

I'm recording it so my prediction is we'll see an Amanda-Todd-Courtney final three, with Amanda winning the mil.

Amanda absolutely killed all her chances of winning. She gave some awful responses to the jury.

Has being apologetic ever worked?

 

This was really one of the best seasons of Survivor.

 

I'm looking forward to next season. Although, I don't necessarily like the twists that Burnett & Co. have done in the past, this one has a lot of potential.

Being apologetic worked for Chris in Vanuatu. It was the most shameful performance in Survivor history and the jury ate it up. I'm not sure if there are other examples, but I'm not exactly taxing my brain to think of them.

 

This, for me, was not one of the best seasons. The strategy, for the most part, was really awful.
