CapeFish
We did it, it seems so unreal. Seems like we will just stop playing tomorrow, some other 4 NL teams will play on the national stage. I can't believe it is the Florida Marlins, MY Florida Marlins. *sheds tear of joy Sorry, but things hit me a day later like this. 9/11 did the same to me as did the fact that I was moving. I know what you mean...I'm so very used to this being the time when the Season ends. It's a very strange, unexplainable feeling I have. I get very emotional about this, espically when watching the clip of Counsell scoring then thinking back to 98' and 99'. If the Marlins win it all this year I will cry hysterically of joy. Wild Card
We're in the playoffs. Jeffrey should ahve that stadium deal locked-up by the same time Mike Lowell is as well.

flasportsfan88
think this season will give us a stadium like it did san diego in 98??
FishFan24
think this season will give us a stadium like it did san diego in 98?? I think '97 would have done that for the Marlins if Huizenga hadn't ripped the team apart! I still think the they are going to have to keep a core of this team together and continue to have fans come out to the ballpark if any talks of a new stadium is to begin. I could be wrong. Maybe politicians will see this team now and see that there are fans that are willing to come out to the ballpark if a winning product is put on the field and will be willing to work something out. Just remember the same was said in Detroit and Pittsburgh and they got new stadums. Look where they are today?
jonnylons
I agree. That is why I have said that I think we are going to keep this team together. I think making the playoffs has made that a reality. I think we are going to see almost everyone come back - except for Hollandsworth. You know this is killing Burnett and Spooneybarger. And in a way, I am happy they are not playing - Burnett seemed a little too whiny there and trying to 'hate' on this franchise. This team, these players, are developing loyalty to this team. That is why I think you are going to see a guy like Lee ask for less money to stay here. Burnett too, because he may feel he has to earn his spot back and he wants to win. Players will start looking to FL because we are winners and a great team to play for. These guys have great, great chemistry. This is a special situation - dare I say more special than '97. These guys are a family, '97 they were professionals. Different feel, but should yield same result - a championship. Now, Loria is going to have to show how committed he his. I think he will rise to the occasion.
CapeFish
If the politicans get in the way (which they won't since this team has now proven itself) then just leave it to the voters. They will get it done.
