I know he had the MRI done earlier today....hope for the best....

Sources indicate that Kensing suffered a right wrist flexor strain and looks like he will be put on the DL on Tuesday.

Options for the Fish

Call up Chris Resop from AAA

Activate Mitre from DL (depening on how he does in a rehab assignment with the GCL Marlins on Tuesday)

so lets see what happens

hoping that the very worse is a 15 day DL stint, rather then have to lose him for the rest of the season or something of that nature.

not supposed to go into much detail, but dont expect him to pitch this year again

Oh okay but whatever it is I really hope he has a speedy recovery.

i hope this isn't a bad injury. i like logan. he's one of the relievers that we can rely on. (not lately)

Here is some info on the wonderful Logan Kensing.

WASHINGTON -- With all the speculation floating around manager Joe Girardi and owner Jeffery Loria, the Marlins did make a roster-related move on Tuesday.

Girardi told reporters before the game with Washington that the team would move reliever Logan Kensing to the disabled list with a right wrist flexor strain on Wednesday. Kensing suffered the injury in the seventh inning of Sunday's 7-3 loss to Los Angeles.

Kensing threw five pitches to Julio Lugo and then exited the game in favor of Taylor Tankersley. An MRI on Monday revealed the injury.

The right-hander has appeared in 37 games for the Marlins on the year and owns a 1-3 record with a 4.54 ERA. Kensing has earned both his first Major League save and win this season.

Girardi said that he had an idea about who the team would call up to replace Kensing but declined to name any names.

"I think," the Marlins skipper said. "But you always have to wait."

guess we'll see who the added player is going to be in another day or two....does not look like Mitre is too happy right now with management...that is not a good sign for him coming off the DL....

honestly i dont know what he was expecting.. not like they were going to remove one of the current starters for him, since they have all been pitching well.

Is he mad that he is not starting?

he's mad at the way he has been handled

handled how? that he got placed on the DL, and lost his starting spot to someone who has played well?

AP Story below

WASHINGTON ? (AP) ? The Florida Marlins put right-hander Logan Kensing on the 15-day disabled list with an arm injury and reinstated right-hander Sergio Mitre from the 60-day DL before Wednesday night's game against the Washington Nationals.

Kensing ? 1-3 with one save and a 4.54 ERA in 37 relief appearances ? left Sunday's game against the Dodgers after five pitches and had an MRI exam Monday that showed a strained right wrist flexor.

Mitre went on the disabled list with right shoulder inflammation in May, a day after leaving a start after only three pitches. He recently had been on a rehab assignment.

He'll be used out of the bullpen, in short stints initially, manager Joe Girardi said.

"You have to be a little bit careful, because he's coming back from an arm injury ? how much you use him, how many days in a row, until he builds up a little bit,'' Girardi said. "Sergio understands I need him in the bullpen.''

All seven of Mitre's appearances this season have been as a starter, and he was 1-4 with a 4.89 ERA. Girardi said it's possible Mitre will return to a starting role at some point this season.

"The need of our club is in the bullpen right now. Does that mean he won't have any more starts this year? No, it doesn't mean that all. I'm not saying he will,'' Girardi said. "But we need him in the bullpen because we've had some injuries.''

To make room on the 40-man roster for Mitre, right-hander Jeff Fulchino was designated for assignment.
