August 18, 200619 yr If he doesn't the sport is going to take a hit I don't think they like having these guys out of it. nvm what i said i meant to say how is he in 4th?
August 19, 200619 yr He's a good funny guy and a good driver. I'm glad to see he's having success. I wish Bobby would've had some success this year

Burton will make the chase and contend for the championship. But as long as Johnson doesn't melt down in the next few weeks (which is still very possible), he'll win the cup.

But as long as Johnson doesn't melt down in the next few weeks (which is still very possible), he'll win the cup. Hendrick guys and Kevin Harvick are the guys I root for. It's just suprising how quietly he's become one of the most consistent drivers in the circuit. Go Jimmie!
August 19, 200619 yr I can't stand Jimmie Johnson or his punk crew chief :thumbup I also can't stand Dale Jr. Did you see what he did to Edwards in the Busch race today?
August 19, 200619 yr Author I think about a year ago Dale Jr. was the first guy a lap down and he spun himself around so he could be the lucky dog and go to the back of the field on the lead lap. He got fined but i've respected him ever since. I didn't see what happened can you describe it for me?

He got fined but i've respected him ever since. I didn't see what happened can you describe it for me? Carl Edwards was the leader during a green - white - checkered. Carl got a little loose coming off of turn 2. Not bad, just a little push. Junior was side by side with Robby Gordon for second place. He saw Edwards get a little loose and slow a little and instead of letting off which would not have hurt him, he stomped the gas and ran Carl over who spun. NASCAR reviewed it and still gave Junior the win.
August 20, 200619 yr Yeah I saw that move, I'm not sure what to make of it. It's debatable whether Carl actually got loose or not.
August 20, 200619 yr Yeah I saw that move, I'm not sure what to make of it. It's debatable whether Carl actually got loose or not. The f***ed up thing is that if Carl were the one who spun Junior, he'd have been penalized. NASCAR is not dumb. They protect their franchise drivers.

It's unfair to the rookies in the Busch series and unfair to the other drivers in the Cup series that don't have Busch rides. No heart in this sport whatsoever. There never was. The company is corrupt.

If Dale didnt do what he did, Robby probably ends up passing him for the win. I dont really see what the debate is whether or not Carl actually got loose, when he did on two straight restarts. You can debate all you want about money v development....and thats something that NASCAR will face soon enough with a lack of development of younger drivers.
August 20, 200619 yr Author I don't really like Cup Drivers in Busch either. It probably brings in a lot more $$$$ though.
August 21, 200619 yr I don't really like Cup Drivers in Busch either. It probably brings in a lot more $$$$ though. Probably? Believe me, it does. I just hope the truck series never gets like that. It's kind of ironic that the series that has the most quality racing and most respectful drivers is the least popular, third third tier, brand.

August 21, 200619 yr That Busch race was absolutely awesome...victory lane was pretty damn crazy especially when Carl came up and started bitching. I don't know if that part got on tv. I'm pretty sure the TV guys had already left victory lane. And there is no way Carl Edwards would have been penalized if it were the other way around. (him wrecking jr) This has happened 9438509348590 times to every driver, popular and not popular and Nascar has NEVER taken away a win because they wrecked somebody on the final lap and you know what? They never will, no matter who is involved. On lap 22, should that have been a penalty? Absolutely. But not on the final lap of the race. Basically anything goes. When Nascar starts taking wins away from drivers. That's when it becomes a joke. Oh and Jr got booed louder than anyone I have ever heard in victory lane on Saturday. Jr is popular but Nascar is not afraid on penalizing him or any other driver. There are just as many Jr haters as there are fans. Just look at him getting 25 points taken away in the Chase for saying sh*t two years ago. That is regoddamndiculous that something like that would happen. On Saturday he did drop the f-bomb on the PA in victory lane though :plain And expect to see a decent sized fine against Carl later this week. What he did was extremely dangerous (Jr's arm out the window and flying up against him). And I agree on the Busch Series thing to a point. They should be allowed to race, but only 5 races if you are a cup regular. That way you still get the big stars and some of younger guys. The thing is without the Cup guys these races won't even get 15,000. The Busch race was probably about 50k or around there on Saturday is great. ARCA(the 'real' Nascar minor league) got maybe 4,000 on Friday. People just don't want to come if there aren't big names and at those prices I don't blame em. Hell look at truck race attendance. I don't believe it is very good at all. As long as there is a major TV contract involved with the Busch Series there will be Cup regulars racing. O and nice work jinxing Burton...lol

August 21, 200619 yr I love how the fans of the popular young drivers kid themselves into thinking that the sanctioning body is nonpreferential.
