September 16, 200619 yr don't see why fielder is in front of willingham they have the same HR/RBI's but willy has the better average From a defensive standpoint I don't think Willingham is as good as Fielder. Fielder is quite the athlete for such a round guy. So with other stats nearly equivalent, i'd give Prince the nod. Willy is batting .10 points higher and has a higher OPS and if as for defense Willy has been great out there with his diving plays Willy>Fielder
September 16, 200619 yr Papelbon had one of the top 5 seasons for a closer of all time. Meh, he's still a closer in the end. Not really on ESPN it said the Red Soxs are going to make him a starter in 2007 Yeah, let's see how he pitches in 2007 in that role... Not as dominating for sure, but he's more valuable to the team in that role. The Red Sox haven't made him a starter yet, obviously that will hinge on who they acquire in the off-season and how confident they are with the 'pen going into the year. That decision isn't going to be made until ST.

I think Boston starters are ranked almost dead last in the AL in ERA. I would bet that Baltimore and Kansas City are worse though. Yes, he is more valuable as a starter to us because I think his game and his longevity is actually better in the rotation. All depends what happens in free agency to us though.
September 16, 200619 yr I have to add Chris Duncan and Chuck James to the Honorable mentions. No crap.. Duncan has been awesome for this Cardinals team.. why he wasnt starting from Day one I dont know.. .305 AVG, 18 HR, 37 RBI, 52 R, .374 OBP, .601 SLG, .975 OPS Chris Duncan hit two home runs Friday, giving him 18 this season including 15 since the All-Star break. The only other rookie in Cardinals history who hit as many as 15 homers after the break was Albert Pujols, who had 16 in 2001. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=260915124
